  1. I had a ticket to donate yearly to Greytalk but it disappeared. Could you please do another one or show me how to donate. Thanks Sheila
  2. I have a fun police dog. McCleary does not like it when Xavier is having fun. Not sure why, Xavier is definitely the omega dog here. McCleary will break up any fun the others are trying to have.
  3. I am sorry this is all happening at once. Was he fostered before he came to you? If so ask them if he had problems. I second the meds thing. It doesn't say where you are from but one of the drugs given in the US is Tramadol. I had a boy grey react to this very badly, but only this one grey. You will be in our prayers.
  4. She was 14. She passed two weeks before Christmas. Happy Birthday to Phoebe. If she is half the dog Mia was she is awesome.
  5. Amadeus, my first blue fawn. Aria, painted by Goldsmom,
  6. Thank you all so much. Mia has passed, I am trying to find a picture of Sherri. I am on the FB greytalk but I also like the forum. Now for shopping for burbdog biscuits

  8. Hi, Many years ago I came to Greytalk in desperation because I had adopted Amadeus, who hated crates. Through love and advice the greytalk family helped me give this loving hound a safe home environment. He became famous because he was going to be put down by the group he was with and a friend I met at Dewey sent me an email. I took him in with out question. He became my heart and soul hound. At the time I was The A's mom. I had Aria, Amadeus, and Angel. I also had Mia who was in the celebrating greyhound desk calendar for 2017. Now I have just four babies and waiting on a hound that is still racing. My new crew are: Mozart (DKC Moonshine) a Blue Fawn Sherri (Sherrif Morton) a red fawn brood mom McCleary (Instantly Clear) a black boy Xavier (Mulberry express) a brindle boy named after Professor X from the X-Men. It has been so long since I have posted I have to go figure out how to post pictures. I will do so asap. Sheila,
  9. That is so awesome. If she is anything like her mom she is a total sweetheart. Mia is the boss around here and everyone knows it. I can honestly say she is one special greyhound. Her picture is in the Celebrating Greyhounds desktop calendar for June.
  10. Hello everyone, I post a lot to the FB Greytalk forum so decided to come back to the place that stared it all fo me. I found Greytalk when I needed help with Amadeus my second greyhound. Aria was my first. He was famous to Greytalk because of his situation and how I got him. He passed several years ago at the age of 14. I searched for another Ami. I finally learned that there was not another Ami. I did find a new pup though. He was picked especially for me by my group. his name is Mozart. I also have 2 brood moms, Mia (Johnson Belle) and Sherri (Sherriff Morton) Xavier a beautiful shy Brindle (Mulberry Xpress) and McCleary a big black beauty (instantly Clear) and Noel who has been the longest. I have several in between. I am glad to be back and to get to know everyone again. Left to Right----Sherri, Mozart, McCleary, Xavier, Mia, Noel and a little fluffy Sophie
  11. Husband gave me a present on his rememberance day. It is a pendant with his birthdate and liter letter. I cried
  12. and you running after me asking what your dog had done wrong. I looked slightly crazy and said Amadeus keeps finding himself at the food table in the middle so no one can get around him. You said, look he is still there. I then looked down to see I had Phene. I still say we should have won the twin dogs award
  13. Amadeus is probably on of the well known pups around. I always use his story (edidted of course) about how everyone isn't for that particular greyhound but there is a greyhound for everyone home. I met a lady Deb Meyers at Dewey Beach. We talked and had a great time. When we got home she sent out a mass photo of a blue fawn boy being put down by the group. I had jut said 20 minutes before saying I wanted a blue fawn since I saw a few at Dewey. I wrote back and she contacted the group and they said for her to come and get him. This was Thrusday, I had to call my prince of a husband and 1-I just agreed to take a hound unseen and the only knews I had was the group deemed him unadoptable. 2) we had to drive 12 hours round trip to pick him up. The group I was working with at the time said all greyhounds had to be crated when not home. I had Aria and she was fine without a crate or fine with it, so being ever diligently I bought a crate for Ami. I found out why they returned him. He HATED being crated. I came home for 3 days with poop, pee, down feathers and you name it. Finally I reached out and they said to baby gate him and try that. It worked. He and Aria were best friends, but he was for me that one dog that was the missing part of my soul. He was a quiet leader, he was my dog that I cried many tears into his fur and he understood, we had multiple talks and he just was. Today is the day we had to say goodbye so many years ago. I will never forget him ever. You may be one but not forgotten big boy.
  14. Oh yes, Aria was a track favorite. She was Forbes Windsong when she raced. She was the most perfect grey in the world. I found her trainer on GT years ago. She said Aria was a favorite and she cried when she put her on the trailer.
  15. Jeannine, It has been a long time since we have talked. Hope all is going well.
  16. Awww Robin, I remember you and Phene. He and Ami were twinzies. Ever since he passed I have been looking for another blue fawn male. They are very rare indeed.
  17. Hi, I am a longtime Greytalk fan. In fact with my first greyhound they were lifesavers. My name is Sheila and I was mom to the The A's for those who remember them. Aria, Amadeus and Angel. I now have 2 brood mom's Sherri (sherriff Morton) and Mia (Johnson Belle) my sweet girl Noel (call it gold) a black boy McCleary and Xavier (mulberry's xpress). I am excited about being back and sharing things with you all. I will try to post pictures as soon as I get a chance. Sheila Crawford Maryland
  18. I have two LS dogs. The only test is the going down the spine with your fingers. (that I know of) both are on Gabopentin. The first vet I saw was our groups vet for one of the girls. I have never been so frustrated in my life. She goes she has the symptoms of LS but I am not sure. Here is a newer drug being used for nerve pain (Gabie) and I don't know if it has any side effects or not but it won't hurt to try. I came home call my personal vet (the dog was a foster at the time) and got her in the next day. My vet confirmed LS and told me about Gabie. There are no side effects. It only works on areas needed and is for nerve pain. Even humans can take it but I haven't gotten that brave yet. So then I end up with another foster (13 year old) and I do the test myself and sure enough she shows signs. Take her to my vet, she confirms. So my Sweetie that I adopted and my perma foster are both on Gabie. They have good days and bad. My vet told me to add a tramadol with the gabie if needed.
  19. When we lost Angel we had no idea that Noel was so attached. (we have 5 dogs). All of our other dogs had the vet come to the house but with Angel it was sudden and he broke his shoulder and leg in several places and the cancer was to far advanced. We made the decision to let him go then. Noel spent several weeks looking for Angel. She would go into the room Angel would sleep in and look for him, and would lay on the bed where he was. Even though I told her he had gone to the bridge and left his ashes out for her to smell she has never really gotten over not being with Angel when he passed. We really had no idea they were that close. I am a bit worried a little because we now have a 13 year old broodie who is staying with her until she passes (which she has no intention of doing anytime soon) and Noel has gotten attached to her. She is the only one I have ever seen Noel let sleep with her.
  20. Oh I am so sorry. I know how much he was loved.
  21. Oh you will soon become a poop expert. I would ask your vet but I think it is ok to give flagyl with Antibiotics.
