After reading this I guess there is a reason we take the seniors in. :lol

    Yep.

I find that I can't take the activity levels of young animals. I never really could, but now my tolerance is even lower. Seniors are more my speed.

Trying is a different word than I used earlier. Lol. I love her so much. I love her so much. I just keep repeating that phrase. And “this too shall pass”. I think next week we’ll do a day or two of daycare.

About 25 years ago, after my second puppy in 6 months, I said I was never doing puppy again. I did--I brought Daisy home 10 years ago because I couldn't find an adult Std. at the time. She was promptly dubbed The Jerk, or something along those lines. She's still a jerk, but slightly less go-go-go and doesn't nip or jump up.

I'm so sad and sorry to see Toodles listed here. :cry1 Doolin will continue to aspire to her magnificent ETS.

    Thank you both.

Toodles started to slide a few weeks ago and the latter part of last week was increasingly ugly. It was time. :(

I bet this is how dads of preteen girls feel. I don’t think I like it.

Yeah. It happens so fast. :grouphug

ETA: I have zero interest in getting another puppy of any sort, but there's an almost-9 yr old broodie that might be up for a move to Canada, eh...

The vet confirmed a lack of an on/off switch for both ears and barking.

Poppy seems to have acquired all of the voice boxes that were intended to be handed out on 11/27. They were supposed to be equally distributed but she got them all.

Question: are wolfhounds or deerhounds loud breeds?

Ugh. I don't envy you the over-supply of voice boxes.

I don't believe wolfhounds or deerhounds are known barkers, but I've known only those that belonged to others. I haven't tried to live with one.

“18 week old ears don’t listen”

    there, fixed it for ya!

I kid. She’s actually a smart cookie who did have brains installed at the factory. She knows sit, down, place, kennel, touch, heel, and in theory knows what come means too.

Not sure it needed to be fixed--hence the sit etc.--but I see your point. :lol

As you probably know/recall, the ears improve a bit with age, and then go bad again during adolescence. :rofl

Punkin, the girl who pretty much ignores the basket of stuffies, is obsessed with what arrived recently from a secret admirer. Makes my heart sing to see her so happy.

She looks so alive and engaged in that photo. :beatheart :beatheart :beatheart

  8. It's good that Punkin's site is healing well. Fingers crossed that the margins were "good enough" if not perfect. I also hope AnnIE doesn't have another incident anytime soon.

I love that the girls support each other during their vet visits. :beatheart
