Trying is a different word than I used earlier. Lol. I love her so much. I love her so much. I just keep repeating that phrase. And “this too shall pass”. I think next week we’ll do a day or two of daycare.
About 25 years ago, after my second puppy in 6 months, I said I was never doing puppy again. I did--I brought Daisy home 10 years ago because I couldn't find an adult Std. at the time. She was promptly dubbed The Jerk, or something along those lines. She's still a jerk, but slightly less go-go-go and doesn't nip or jump up.

Gorgeous girl in an awesome collar!
Any vet cheered on by a fan like Poppy would run her heart out.
(The go-go-go spicy phase is ... trying.)

I'm so sad and sorry to see Toodles listed here. Doolin will continue to aspire to her magnificent ETS.

Thank you both.
Toodles started to slide a few weeks ago and the latter part of last week was increasingly ugly. It was time.

I confess to missing all the baseball references, but I love Poppy's swag and her beautiful eyes are almost as big as sunglass lenses.

I'm glad you had less snow than expected. I'm even happier that we didn't get it.

I bet this is how dads of preteen girls feel. I don’t think I like it.
Yeah. It happens so fast.
ETA: I have zero interest in getting another puppy of any sort, but there's an almost-9 yr old broodie that might be up for a move to Canada, eh...

I hope the power is back.
We've had three days of rain. I'm sick of it, but it's easier to handle than snow, especially heavy, wet snow.

The vet confirmed a lack of an on/off switch for both ears and barking.
Poppy seems to have acquired all of the voice boxes that were intended to be handed out on 11/27. They were supposed to be equally distributed but she got them all.
Question: are wolfhounds or deerhounds loud breeds?
Ugh. I don't envy you the over-supply of voice boxes.
I don't believe wolfhounds or deerhounds are known barkers, but I've known only those that belonged to others. I haven't tried to live with one.

The change in her appearance is amazing. She looks not only bigger and less like a puppy, but much more hound-y. Her eyes remain extraordinary.

“18 week old ears don’t listen”
there, fixed it for ya!
I kid. She’s actually a smart cookie who did have brains installed at the factory. She knows sit, down, place, kennel, touch, heel, and in theory knows what come means too.
Not sure it needed to be fixed--hence the sit etc.--but I see your point.
As you probably know/recall, the ears improve a bit with age, and then go bad again during adolescence.

Someone laffed at me and said that the Little Battery Snowblower was for people in Florida (no offense to any Floridians)
For a few years after I moved here, I had across-the-street neighbours with a small electric machine. It was useless too..

"Foal knees" is an excellent description.
I'm not surprised about the "decoration" decision--18 week old ears don't usually listen well.

@MarcR Oh, that thing was returned almost immediately, complete FAIL!
I'm not surprised. You'd need a big two-stage monster for the amount of snow that you get.

@EllenEveBaz and @FiveRoooooers : The Chopped episode with Peeps was apparently Episode 5, Season 12, 2012. It's possible that Peeps made another appearance and the episode didn't pop up on my search.

That's an amazing change in a week. I hope the forecast is overly dramatic.
We're expecting a lot of precipitation too, but most of it should be rain. Glug.
-
I don't have any advice, but I'm sending best wishes to Penny and you for a successful rehab.
-
I too will have to find that Chopped episode.

Cute.
Not my "cup of tea" for all sorts of reasons, but definitely inventive and cute.

Punkin, the girl who pretty much ignores the basket of stuffies, is obsessed with what arrived recently from a secret admirer. Makes my heart sing to see her so happy.
She looks so alive and engaged in that photo.

Is there another grey nearby that you could join for walks? I know some adopters have used that strategy. I had one nervous boy who did a lot better when he was with his "sisters" (the other greys I had).

Brolly is a very busy boy.
My cousin-in-law had a dog (a female golden, if I recall correctly) who liked to go in bushes ... head first. She was more a "private pooper" than a "plant killer."

It's good that Punkin's site is healing well. Fingers crossed that the margins were "good enough" if not perfect. I also hope AnnIE doesn't have another incident anytime soon.
I love that the girls support each other during their vet visits.

Yep.
I find that I can't take the activity levels of young animals. I never really could, but now my tolerance is even lower. Seniors are more my speed.
