  1. it's very disconcerting to see Walter stressed like that. I have no advice but I'm sending a lot of payers and good thoughts for Wally. I'll email you my cell number, call or text if you need anything. I'm here for you.
  2. Loosen the strap around her chest by an inch or so and you will be all set.
  3. Susan to answer your question, Ernie was crated and then the issues with the messing of the crate started. She stopped crating him, things were go for a little bit and then the messing issues returned.
  4. My thoughts are going out to Judy, Mike and Kevin. I'm so sorry. Run free Pistol.
  5. Carolina is 13 and just recently I noticed that her back end isn't as sturdy as it used to be. She trips over her own back feet at least once or twice a day. If she walks or stands for an extended period of time, her back end will start to sink. She is able to right herself quickly and never gets anywhere close to sinking all the way down. She has been on Cosequen DS for several years. It keeps her moving, but I haven't seen it help with the back end weakness at all. Is there another supplement I can add that will help with her hind end?
  6. Please add my Aunt's greyhound Speedo. She lost him last week to kidney disease.
  7. I agree with Buddy. Rebel is on the spooky side and can easily slip out of a martingale collar and a standard harness rides up his chest when he tries to bolt. Go with the no pull freedom harness from WWW. It has the control loop on the back and also a control ring on the front of the harness to help with dogs who pull.
  8. I switched my kids to Sentinel for their monthly heart worm meds. New guy, Rebel wouldn't chew his pill this morning. Does it really need to be chewed up or is it okay that he swallowed it whole?
  9. I have used Cosequen DS for five years on my kids. Started them on it when they turned eight and nine. Carolina continues to take it and Jake took it up until the day he left for the bridge. It helps keep them moving, active and especially steady on their feet. Our new edition, Rebel will be coming home tomorrow. He just turned three a couple of weeks ago. He never raced and as far as I know he has no health issues. Should I start him on Cosequen now or wait until he's old? Would there be any benefit for him if he starts it now?
  10. I just went through this with Jake, it's horrible. Home cooking is the way to go. Fatty hamburger or chicken Rice or pasta Potatoes or sweet potatoes Scrambled eggs Carrots and green beans (mashed up) You will need to add calcium carbonate and a vitamin supplement.
  11. Sending hugs. You will get through this Mary Pat.
  12. I was wondering the same thing, Chad. Carolina's T4's have continued to sneak down the last two years. She hasn't been acting any different so I haven't pushed for further testing.
  13. I'm sorry Diane. Huston will be missed by many. Godspeed Huston.
  14. I was pretty unhappy with the vet for several years but decided to stick with them because the kids have been seen there for 10 years. The lack of care Jake received at the end sealed the deal that it's time to find someone else. Should I have Carolina's records transferred over to the new practice I choose?
  15. Jake, I honestly don't know how you made it to 14. You survived prison, forever getting hurt, even the first month I brought you home. I could always count on you for a laugh, getting into some sort of trouble and keeping me on my toes. You will forever be my baby boy. Carolina and I love and miss you everyday.
  16. I assume they have nerves in their teeth like we do. If it's broken off that much it probably bothers her. Do you think you can move up her appointment? Sending good thoughts for little Izzy.
  17. Never heard of UPC. I will get a sample to the vet in the next day or so. The general consensus at the vet is that "he is 14 you know." He's still feeling good I would like to give him any opportunity possible. Diane if you you good send me the home cooked diet, that would be wonderful.
  18. He's never been a big fan of kibble period. I usually have to add other things in to get him going, for example grating up chicken nuggets, mixing in a spoonful of peanut butter, etc. What are some safe add ins I can give him? The vet has only suggested the renal diet and recheck his numbers in a month. Should I push the enalapril? No blood pressure checks either.
  19. To test for the UPC do you need a urine sample or blood work? I'm honestly in a state of shock that I may lose my baby of this.
  20. Mary Pat they were taste testing them for you. They just wanted to make sure it was safe for you.
  21. Urine test came back as protein in the urine, I don't have any details further then that.
