I am so sorry for your loss...

My vet has told me to do OTC at times. Hummm....

Here, we do the three year plan. They get the three year rabies, and when the rabies are due, they also get the boosters. Mine are also never boarded. If I remember right, here they don't even offer the 7-in-one shot anymore it is only the 6 way. Lepto is no longer in the booster.

Not sure how old he is but when ever there is weight loss I always think Valley Fever. Simple blood test will tell you.

We kinda went thru this with Jac-Fooy. DH REFUSED to let the vet take her leg. Thinking that there was no way that she would have a life as a tri-pod. After much fighting, ranting, crying, and lots of information, he came to his senses!! That is HIS BABY!! I hope you can get him behind you...it would be a heck of a thing to have to do it alone. I just can't imagine!

We went thru this. All my vet wanted was if they had never been seen by her, we had to bring in to get the weight of the dog. No charge except for the pills.

Dr Stack from what I was told is/was one of the first to really do a lot of research on VF. She was very nice to talk to and will answer an email with no problem. If you would like here email let me know and I will try to dig it up for you.

For the most part here in our town they are offering the 6 in one...Lepto is not given in that shot anymore. I get them all done every three years unless something special is happening: like a trip or something! Angel will turn 10 in Nov. Vet and I already discussed it and she said that she totally understands if I decide not to give her anymore shots. She has had so many. I really don't think she will need more. But the vet did point out that Greys are living longer these days and to consider that also when I make my decision!

Domino's was the size of an orange. It was on the inside of his back left leg. They found about 6 more. Took them all off. Cancer. I think it was/is called some type of mass cell. Nothing we can do really. Just keep taking them off. Noser is 7 almost 8 years. Good luck. My heart and prayers are with you.

I just can't ever tell anyone how much I like the purple packaged paper tape. I get it at walmart. I found it when we were trying to save Jack-foos leg. You can tape right on the hair and it does not pull the hair when we take it off. I just cut Max's ear when I groomed him...** *I mean I really CUT him** grabbed the tape and when it was done just took it off. That is a Yorkie ear. tape

Jac-foo did this not to long ago!! She had her little "hole" raw and the base of her tail also. Her glands were fine. So I put her muzzle on with a piece of tape over the front so she could not lick it. Then some cream on her bootie and tail and a few days she was fine and hasn't licked anymore!!

I am so glad that in the end, with all the trials, everything worked out fine.

Cosmo did something very similar. I used a baby/toddler sock and taped it up with medical paper tape. I would put triple antibiotic on it and change sock at night. In a just a matter of 4/5 days it was healed up enough to leave the sock off. So after the first 3/5 days, let her have at it. As long as they don't lick to much and inhibit the healing!! If the wounds are not deep, I always let nature take its course. Just help a little. When they are deep or won't leave alone, that is when I get involved.

I am so sorry. That is the reason I always use muzzles. I don't even take then off until I have been home almost an hour. Hugs.

Mine all have temp. likes and dislikes. Domino is the skinny skinny one. He will lay in the sun at 95. Angel the hot, hot, oldest one I have, is the one that has HER bed under the window air! Kala is the only one that will sleep in my bed, under the covers with me....And the differences continue...
