  1. Sounds like a mild seizure or vestibular disorder. With the vestibular disorder you might also see his eyes moving quickly side to side. My vet said the initial episode of the disorder can last 20-30 minutes with subsequent episodes lasting longer. Fortunately Oliver did not have a repeat episode. I don't remember if medicine was given, but I know we were to check his temperature and if he overheated to bring him in pronto. It is scary because it looks like the dog's sense of balance is all screwed up. Oliver wanted to go outside but had no idea what to do once he got there. If it's a mild seizure that's a whole different thing.
  2. What time are you going tomorrow Trish? We'll do some special meditating for Sam then...provided I remember the time zone difference.
  3. Sam, don't scare your mom, honey. Everything will be OK.
  4. You should not judge yourself. You are not a veterinarian. You are not a pyschic. You did what you thought was right. You tried. You cared. You loved. Otis knows you loved him. Otis would not want you to feel guilty. Otis loves you.
  5. Mahogany, keep eating sweetie. Diane, take care of yourself too.

  11. I tried a few high price kibbles but have come back to Iams Pro-health formula. Firm poops all around.
  12. So sad, so much loss for one family to deal with. Since January 1 we've lost 45 greys on here, most GT pets, some not, still too many.
  13. Wow, I'd never heard of that before but I found this: linky It certainly sounds smart that your specialist is doing a tick panel. I hope she feels better soon.
  14. Poor Buddy. I guess a nip is better than a rupture. You could call him "sweet cheeks" since he's nip-a-licious.
  15. The glands are - of you picture the face of a clock - at 8 & 4 o'clock or 7 & 5 o'clock with the anus in the center like the clock hands rotate. Boy, I hope someone can find a diagram cuz I don't think I'm explaining it well. Some folks will comment theat their grey did a lot of butt licking prior to a rupture. That wasn't the case with Gracie, though she would lick occasionally. Nor did she do any butt dragging on the floor. The vet said it was a good thing it ruptured as that relieved the pressure. Antibiotics fixed it and there was some powder as well. The details will be in that post link.
  16. Could it possibly be a rupturing anal gland? Here's a link to the thread I posted when Gracie's butt ruptured: embarassing butt pictures of Gracie
  17. He'll be OK Lori. for you and :dogcookie for Bill.
