  1. Sirocco was diagnosed with pannus a few years ago. He had the red eye with clouding in the corner also. Also, more eye discharge than the others. If a dog has to have a chronic condition, pannus is the one to have. It make take some med adjustments to get it under control, but is then fairly easy to maintain. His cyclosporine and prednisolone cost less per month than a bag of dog food. Dogs don't absorb enough of the steroid systemically for there to be a concern about long-term side effects. It takes more time to pass out morning cookies than to put in his eye drops.

    Good Luck!

  2. Another vote for get her to an opthamologist. Our vet is very grey savvy but he still recommended we take Sirocco to an opthamologist after diagnosing his pannus. I am very glad we did. Sirocco's pannus was a bit stubborn at first and required a few steroid injections directly in the eye to get it under control. :eek His opthamologist said Sirocco's case was more like a german shepherd's than a greyhound's. Sirocco's pannus has now been very well controlled for the past 3 years on prednisolone and cyclosporine in corn oil drops twice a day. :yay Also, his opthamologist doesn't charge much more for an exam than a regular vet. Definitely worth $45 and an hour drive.

  3. Many of my favorite GT posts started with the words: "Lacey Laine. You have some 'splaining to do!" Run free and sass long at the bridge, Lacey Laine, until you are with your family again.

  4. She was the Queen. She was the "brood with the 'tude". She was a special soul. I wish I knew words that could make the pain go away. I don't so I would like to send a memorial to Marilyn in the Queen's honor instead.

Biotch free and rule tightly at the bridge, Barbie Jade, until you are with your family again.
