I am still in shock. He was fine this morning when I let him out. Within 5 minutes I heard a sharp cry. WHen I went to check on him, he was gone! I am not sure what happen. The vet thinks he had a heart attack. He would have been 4 July 31st. I can't stop crying, but want to be strong for my children. I'll write more whne I can see the screen better. We have had Ike since he was 4 months old. He has hair loss on his behind, stomach, chest, and under his chin. He was beginning to lose the hair around his ears. He has always had somewhat of a bald butt, but the additional hair loss was noticed within the last year. I am not sure if a full panel was done with his brother, but he scored in the same range as Ike. We go back in two weeks for a blood check and if the weight loss continue it will be sooner. Burpdog- where did you find this information? Thanks for all the information. Mindy

He just had a blood test. They checked his T3 and T4. One was in normal range and one was .4 with normal being between 1-4. He will be 4 on July 31st. We got his brother back as a return and they found he had thyroid problems. So we got to thinking that maybe with his hair loss maybe he had a thyroid problem also. Thanks, Mindy

The vet put my youngest greyhound on .8 mg of Thyroxine twice a day for two weeks and now once a day. I have noticed that his hair is growing back, but I am also noticing some weight loss. Is this common? Ike was a skinny boy to begin with and now his ribs are more pronounced. Should I be concerned or am I overreacting? Thanks for your suggestions! Mindy

He is a very sweet boy. He is 3 1/2, but looks older. He has snapped at two of our dogs when they tried sniffing him this morning. We have a muzzle on for a while to let him get used to being here. He seems to like it here. He and my daughter laid on the floor and took a nap. He follows us around and loves hugs. He loves attention. He is a lot like Ike, his brother. Hopefully, he will learn to like it here. He is working on my husband with that greyhound magic. He laid his head on DH's shoulder on the way home from our president's house. I have a picture on my cell phone. I will try to downlod and post. Thanks for your suggestions and concerns. Mindy

The meds were not helping and the vet said to stop them and try the other med. He just came to my house today. I feel so sorry for him. Where can I get the bag balm? By the way, we got burpdogs from my secret saanta and my dogs love them! Mindy

Zephur was a return to our group. He is in bad shape. He is very skinny and has sores on his body. We think he was neglected. We have had him tested for thyroid problems (his T4 was a little low). We tried him on meds for that. He is also on a antidepressan/anti anxiety med. He is my youngest grey's brother. Any ideas how to help him put on weight? What can we put on his sores and dry skin to help him be comfortable? Thanks for any input. Here are a couple pictures of him. He is the red fawn colored grey. Mindy
