  1. Lots of good thoughts for Miss Bea to heal quickly. She was just having too much fun playing in the yard. Keep us posted on her vet visit.
  2. As your pup has had full blood work recently done, you could keep an eye on him for any signs of another event. If you see he is having difficulty I'd bring him in so the vet can evaluate his condition as it happens. It's a good sign that he is recovering and seems to be back to normal. Good luck with your greyhound.
  3. Our greyhound Hobbes had two separate incidents of Vestibular syndrome. The first time he was dizzy, lost his balance and was unable to stand at all. At the E-vet, a neurologist identified his symptoms as Vestibular. He did recover over a period of hours and was given medication for the dizziness. The second incident was shorter in duration and less severe, more like your greyhound experienced. It might be a good idea to have your greyhound get a physical and some blood work just to ease your mind. Hobbes was also approx. 10-1/2 years when he had the first event. Keep us posted on how your boy is doing.

    Birdie

Liz, I am so sorry to see Birdie's name. What a long and happy life she had with you, so many amazing adventures in your travels. Your lovely photo is the perfect tribute to your beautiful girl. Rest well sweetheart!
  5. Jan, the video was beautiful and so sad. It has been 9 months today since we lost Zeke. I think of him every day. There are tears and smiles as you said. The hardest and most painful part of giving our heart to a dog is losing them. But the memories of our time together will always be cherished.
  6. I was saddened to see Corinna's name in Remembrance. Your beautiful photos show how loved and special she was to your family. She left you far too early and suddenly. My heart goes out to your family. May all the lovely memories of the moments you shared bring you comfort & healing.
  7. Jan, you have tried everything possible, followed all the recommendations but sometimes it just doesn't work out. As others have said, he will be fine when he heals. It's a hard but necessary decision for you to make. Remember that you are the best Mom ever!
  8. These anniversaries are so difficult. Andy, a really nice boy with a gentle personality. In his short time at CG, he was happy and felt deeply loved. Pal was a one-of-a-kind gentleman and truly had the sweetest, most joyous personality. You spent many years together with wonderful moments and memories. Dearly missed and always remembered!
  9. What a happy ending after a heart wrenching decision. Wayne is gorgeous and just the right dog for you. He is perfect! We adopted a bounce many years ago and she adjusted quickly to her new home with us, always happy and content. Mercer will find his happy ending as well. Please post lots of pictures of Wayne and his adventures in "the big city".
  10. I am so sorry to see your loss of Sophie. "And can it be that in a world so full and busy the loss of one creature makes a void so wide and deep that nothing but the width and depth of eternity can fill it up!"~ Charles Dickens (1812-1870) When you have a bond as strong as you had with Sophie the heartbreak is deep. Your beautiful words describe the close relationship of two kindred spirits who shared many sweet moments in your life together. Sophie was a truly special girl. Rest well sweet girl - run and play with Sunny.
  11. What a beautiful tribute to your very special boy. You described him so well and painted a full picture of his wonderful life with you. He was truly loved and cherished. In his sweetest little butterfly kisses he was letting you know how much he cared for you. I'm so sorry this gentle soul had to leave you. Rest well sweet boy.
  12. Sharon, no experience with this type of cancer but all my thoughts are with you. Keep us posted on how things are going.
  13. I am so sorry to read about Brooke's passing. She was a beautiful, loving dog who became your special companion, friend and healer. So young, so special, so loved by you. All my thoughts are with you at your sudden heartbreaking loss.
  14. Charlie was such a special boy. He left you far too soon but will always be remembered.
  15. I am so sorry for your loss. Ginny was adorable with her big ball. The posts on Ginny and Bill were those I always looked forward to reading. She had to leave you far too soon. Rest well sweet Ginny.

    Yopon Alan Wag

I remember Alan and the beautiful photos that you posted. He was a very special, handsome boy who was deeply loved and cherished. It's hard to believe it has been 7 years.
  17. Callie was diagnosed with Pannus when she was 3 years old. In the beginning, she was on two separate types of drops 3 times a day. After a couple of months, she was reduced to Tacrolimus eye drops, once a day in both eyes. It has kept the Pannus under control. She'll be 10 in July and will get her yearly checkup to monitor the Pannus. She doesn't seem to mind getting the drops at bedtime.
  18. Glad to hear your pups are doing well. Good for Birdie to be almost 13. Snap & Smokey are gorgeous. Is Snap from Marilyn's kennel? Thank you for the nice words about Zeke. He really was the sweetest boy. I'm so glad we had him in our life. We still have Callie & Brynn from GAS. When the time is right we might see you sometime at the kennel. It's always nice to hear from you!
  19. Hi Liz. Time really does seem to get away from us. It's hard to believe that our beach walks happened in 2004-05. Hope all is well with your pups.
  20. Robin, I am so sorry. I remember when Zander came home to you. Zander was a comfort and reminder of Elsie right from the first day. He found his own special place in your heart. Your beautiful remembrance shows how much he was loved and felt the same about you. Treasure those memories and little moments. He'll find a way to send you a sign. Rest well sweet boy.
  21. This may be a long shot but this was our experience. Fiona started with incontinence in 2013. (We had a male greyhound who had suffered a mild stroke after starting on Proin.) I insisted that Fiona have her blood pressure tested and it was quite high. She was referred to a specialist and placed on Benazepril for the blood pressure. Amazingly, the incontinence stopped as it was related to the blood pressure. Fiona developed other health issues that were unrelated but we were able to avoid placing her on hormone therapy for leaking. Good luck with your girl in finding the solution.

    Sonny

Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. Sonny was a handsome boy. The photo of his sleeping with his leg over his head is adorable. He was very fortunate to have come to your home. Rest well Sonny!
  24. Thank you so much for your comforting posts at Zeke's passing. So many of you have experienced your own losses and truly understand the difficult days that follow. I have to catch myself from looking for Zeke on his bed or reaching for the fourth bowl (his) at feeding time. It will take time to adjust to his loss but I will always be grateful he came into my life.
  25. Thank you for adding Zeke to the list. It's hard to believe he is gone.
