  1. You do need to vent, and we are here for you to do that. I am so sorry that things haven't improved Jason.
  2. Excellent tip Adam. I had already thought that I would just fold the bag up and put it in the garage until the next one is purchased. I completely empty the container and wipe it down before putting a new bag in. I try to wash it out every couple of months but that's only as long as it isn't freezing out as I have to do that outside.
  3. Much better news. Lovely to see you pretty Shelby. Prayers for continued healing and an uneventful healing.
  4. I just returned mine to Costco in a trash bag.... I had my slip so no problem. In the same boat as Jennifer, plus I don't have my receipt. They did call me today though so it isn't like they don't know I bought a bag recently. I'm going to call them and see what they will do.
  5. Sending more prayers your way. I hate that this is happening to you.
  6. I empty mine into another containe and, of course, as luck would have it the bag was in the trash pick up on Wednesday. All three are fine, but I'm tossing it anyway. Now to find something for them for tomorrow.
  7. Atta Girl Shelby! Praying this trend continues. Kyle and Lynn need a breather and so does Shelby. Thanks for the update Derek.
  8. Cautiously optimistic that things will turn around for Shelby. More gentle hugs sent her way, and renewed prayers for wellness. Yes Derek thank you. I got upset this AM because when I went to ship mine UPS insisted that overnight service was not available from Louisville,KY to Charlie's Dad! And this is the world wide hub for UPS! I still can't believe it but they told me the soonest they could deliver it would be next Tuesday! You just never know. Thank God you were able to make the connection and get it to her. It's just what greyhound people do!! Thankfully, my vet has given me his number for any emergencies and he responded to the text right away that he actually had some in the office. He had to order it for Bumper's dental surgery a couple months ago and still had some on hand so he prescribed a top up for "Bumper". We all felt like dealers, especially the cash exchange with Lynn, but in the end, everyone's just trying to help Shelby girl - that's the important thing. There are no people on this planet like greyhound people and I'm sure we all do anything and everything to help another in need. That's what sets this community apart. We are all so lucky to have each other! Ask me about my trip to Orleans to get tramadol from Vicky some time. It really is true that there greyhound peeps are very, very special. We take care of our own.
  9. You're great Derek Lot's of prayers and healing thoughts heading a bit south. Times like this I look for that Like button. Lynn and Shelby will be happier with her home. Come on now Shelby fight!
  10. Have your vet contact Dr Couto at OSU. He is a hematologist and an expert on greyhounds and their blood idiosyncrasies. Consult Link Article on why greyhounds bleed
  11. I'm so very sorry. : I don't let a minute go by without appreciating how lucky I am to share my life with these amazing dogs. Godspeed Teddy A fun loving guy like you will make a wonderful playmate for my little Peanut.
  12. Ramping up the prayers. Kyle if you need to get her transfused, call me. LifeStream Blood Program should be able to get you any blood products you need. I have Sandy's cell number. LifeStream Just wanted to be sure you saw this too.
  13. email the GEM store. Often they have them at events and not on the online store site.
  14. I started reading at the top of the thread and was pleased when I got to the part about the drain coming out. Then I read further Kyle you and Lynn must be worried sick and totally fed up. Praying this gets resolved ASAP. Many hugs and positive healing thoughts heading your way.
  15. Oh Kyle, that really made my heart lurch. Shelby will do much better now that she is home. Give her a gentle hug for me. I only met her for about an hour before she came home to you, but she made such an impression on me. She's in my prayers for a quick and less eventful healing. Derek is right, please no more H & M posts.
  16. Just checking in for news. Praying...
  17. I'll be thinking of you and Sophie tomorrow.
  18. I'm so very sorry Brandi. Godspeed Sophie
  19. Foxy my hound who eventually led me to start Hope for Hounds had a tumor removed 4 months before her 10th birthday. I remember clearly how devastated I felt when the vet told us it was hemangiopericytoma. I immediately did an internet search, and that ultimately led me here to GT. Foxy's pathology report told us there were not clear margins and that the tumor had a 70% chance or recurring. Foxy lived until she was almost 14, or 4 years almost to the day of her surgery. No recurrence! In the years following the start of Hope for Hounds, Dr Couto and I discussed treatment options should she grow a new tumor. One treatment they had developed involved using sterile sesame seed oil mixed with a chemo drug. It is injected into the tumor site after the incision has healed. Lindsay, I would contact OSU and ask about this. Amy, I would have your vet email to ask about how to go about doing that treatment. Since Boojum isn't a greyhound I imagine you would have to pay for a consult, but it might be worth the cost to find out.
  20. Very happy to see this. I had a feeling it was the Anaplasmosis and not the Doxy that was making him feel bad. I'll also say for anyone who cares to hear - I HATE ticks!!!
  21. Welcome to Grey Talk!! Lots of great advice here, plus you've done your reading. Love - Don't be afraid to use your common sense! Please remember to relax and enjoy these early days, like with babies it goes by fast. I think many times we get so wrapped up in the "greyhoundness" that we forget this furry thing is a dog. Enjoy!!!! Did you get a dog? Where are the pictures?
