Annette, I just wrote Dr Couto and have asked his opinion on Alfaxan for you. I had to write him anyway to give him a followup on my Flashy. It might take a day or so to get a reply.

    Thank you

We adopted Banjo September of 2021.  He wasn't even 2 years old yet.  His trainer said that he didn't have a competitive spirit, so he came to live with us.  He definitely can be a handful.  He loves everybody and has to meet everybody.  Just as I was getting control of him on walks I was diagnosed with cancer and had an approximately 6" x 10" tumor removed from my neck and shoulder.   The tumor was removed February 8, 2022 and I was "rebuilt" February 14, 2022.  My wounds are finally getting close to really healing (only 2 left) so I am hoping I can get to the "Y" for some physical therapy/exercise that will help me regain full range of motion in my arm and get some endurance in my legs.  Until then, I take him for short walks just to do what needs to be done away from people he wants to greet.  Roy takes him on longer walks, and with warm weather and no ice, I am finally walking with.

Now that I have figured out how to post pictures, I will post more pictures of him.

  3. Roy had a scare last weekend.  He headed north and took Banjo with him.  He was caught off guard when Banjo jumped into the front seat and rammed Roy (Roy was standing on icy pavement and did not have the best footing) out of the way and got out of the car.  The only thing that stopped Banjo from heading out to the highway was a good smell at the garbage dumpster.  Roy managed to grab him by the harness and get him back into the car.

Has anyone used a dog barrier in their car?

We would need one for our Sonic and one for our Caravan.

    Thanks

Annette, I just pop the pill right in the mouth. It's slightly big. Pill pockets or cream cheese are popular here for my difficult pill takers.

We will go the hot dog route.  I am not able to pop a pill in his mouth since I still don't have full range of motion in my right arm (another story that is getting really old :( )

You can give however you usually give pills. As I recall, you want to start it at least 24 hrs before surgery, but it has been awhile since I had to use it. If I am wrong or things have changed I am sure someone will correct me :D

I think Roy was told to start 1 1/2 days before his dental.  I am happy we don't have to try and give him the pills without hiding them

Banjo is going in for a dental on Tuesday.  It is his first dental with us since we adopted him less than 2 years ago (he had a dental not long before we adopted him).

It's been 2 years since we have taken a pup in for a dental (Miriam back in 2021) and I can't remember how we gave her the pill.  Can it be given disguised in a piece of hot dog?

    Thanks

It would help if I included the name of the drug/pill we will be giving him:  Tranexamic Acid.

supporters have a higher max file size, but it isn't huge, Most people these days link to files stored elsewhere

    here for example https://imgur.com/upload

As an example, I uploaded this pic to the link above. Copy the link, open the new page, then right click the image and get the actual image URL then post that in the post box here, it will be automatically converted to show the image

the URL should look something like this, you want it to end in .jpeg or another image format

  9. I want to post pictures of our pup in our adoption groups radar run from last weekend and the message on the create a new topic page states the limit on size is 60 kb.  I have managed to get the pictures to 60 kb or less but they look like crud.  I checked the size of other pictures that have been posted (and looked very nice) and they have all been well over 60kb.

Why am I seeing a message in the "Create New Topic" screen stating that pictures have to be 60kb or less when other pictures I have seen posted are over this?

    Thanks
