  1. I can imagine the pain of having to make that decision. I'm sending many prayers that the treatment works for Bodie and all the other greyhounds who fall victim to osteo.
  2. I adopted Roo at 8 weeks and had her spayed at 10 months --- the advice I got was to wait until her growth plates had closed and that early spaying wasn't recommended.
  3. Sending good wishes. Mama Rollo is stunning!
  4. What great news! His family must be thrilled! Sending wishes for continued recovery!
  5. Praying for Brady...keep fighting!

    Krier

So sorry to read this. Run free Krier.
  7. I don't think I can help much, but Snickers had lots of swelling in her remaining front leg after her amputation. She had pitting edema (seeping blood from her ankle). They put a compression bandage on her leg but didn't give much of an explanation as to why it occured. I'm sending lots of prayers for Brady.
  8. I agree -- the ticks this year in New England are unbelieveable. I just ordered some stuff for our yard called Vet-Kem Yard Spray -- Siphotrol. It's supposed to be safe for the dogs once it dries. It was expensive, but if it gets rid of most of the ticks it'll be worth it. We haven't applied it yet. We also use Frontline Plus almost year-round too. But I've noticed that the ticks take longer to die from the Frontline and if I've missed one crawling on the pups, it can feed long enough to bloat a little before the Frontline kills it. Does anyone else use siphrotrol? I've also read that you can buy little cardboard tubes with cotton balls treated wtih a tick-repellent/killer. The idea is mice will use the cotton balls to nest and subsequently the ticks will die right at the source. I think it's the same active ingredient as Advantix(or Advantage? I always screw up the name) , which is unsafe for cats though.
  9. If it looks bullseye-like, I'd check it out at the vet... hope it's nothing.
  10. Keep checking....more prayers for Brady. :hope
  11. Sorry for your loss. The photos of Nikki show what a beautiful soul she has.
  12. I'm so sorry to read this Liz. Godspeed beautiful boy.
  13. Sending more prayers for Brady's continued improvement.
  14. Sorry you and Bruce are facing GME. You are in great hands with Dr. Sisson at Angell. I ended up taking my Cricket there for a second opinion but she had been on prednisone for too long and it was too late to do much for her. They were wonderful and very knowledgeable. I got the impression that they were on the cutting edge of treatment. Cricket saw Dr. Sisson's colleague, Dr. Ruelman (spelling ) and she was wonderful but she saw Cricket too late in the game to do much. Sending lots of prayers and support.
  15. Roo was recently spayed and she didn't have any noticeable discharge.
  16. It's so great to see Winslow enjoying his vacation. I absolutely love the last photo -- the joy in both of your eyes is amazing. Funny, my eyes are leaking too.
