  3. Aw, galgomum.... I'm a US galgomum, and my 2 galgas and 2 galgos said they'd be happy to be your Not-So-Secret-Santas! Teo said he'd be willing to share some of his toys with your pups.... That is so sweet. Besides doing a not so secret santa, I would love to know more about how 4 galgo's ended up in the US
  4. Darn, with more than 5 weeks to go before christmas, I didn't think I would be too late. Well, I'll try again next year.

  6. Thanks, it was the first time and he had to big ones in his left front paw. It is that one that he still has so much trouble with, it looks like theother paw feels much better and he walks a lot better on that one.
  7. Wednesday I had an appointment with the vet for Tom, he finally got neutered, his teeth got cleaned(lost only one tooth ) and after looking at the link I provided, he tried the hulling for the three corns Tom had. He was very happy with the method and didn't charge me for removing them Now, I don't know why, but I expected Tom to have a lot less pain right away. But instead he is limping even worse with the leg he had two corns in. It this how it is supposed to be, do I want things to go to fast? Or should I go back to the vet and have him checked out for other things... I would love to see my sweet boy walk normal and without pain for once.
  8. Hey Miran, nice to see you here also. Are those May's collars?
  9. Sometimes life just isn't fair. Tieske, sweet Ties is gone. I fostered him when he was only 4 months old. A little boy that immediatly curled up with Isa and Fynn. Played with Paquita, days and nights. He was hard to let go, we all missed him. We thought he found a perfect home, but we were wrong. Within a few months he bounced. Than Anneke took him in, a good thing because Tieske was ill. She knew it and cared for him like no one else could. We never found out what was wrong with him, except that it seemed to be stress related. During this time, Anneke and I kept close contact, Ties had a special place in both our hearts. Tonight I got a short message. Tieske died, suddenly, his heart just stopped. He had just two short years in this life. He was so special and very loved. He is with Fynn again...

    Fynn

Fynn... she is gone... And I still cannot believe it. It was only 20 months ago that I saw her at Scooby. 3 weeks later she was in our home. She was a very sweet girl, who had a hard time finding trust in people again. But she learned. Soon enough she let us love her and gave us her trust. And we were going to need it for the fight we had to fight together 8 months later when we found out she had Cushing disease. For a few months we were afraid we would loose her, but she never gave up. And she made it through a chemo that was terrible on her and us. After those months, the healing started and we learned what a great girl this was. She learned Isa to snuggle with other dogs, and acted as a guarddog to her. They were always together. Fynn gave her security when outside since Isa is going blind. What we didn't know, or wanted to know that she still had a tumour in her brain. And it grew without us knowing. Until this wednesday, when she suddenly had a seisure. Thursday she started to have them at 9 pm and then every half hour. At 11 pm the vet arrived. At 11.30 pm she left us. At that moment Isa jumped up the couch with her, laid next to her, a paw and her head over her back. They stayed that all night. I still cannot believe it, there is a physical pain inside me. Want to scream that this is so unfair... She was doing so great, still on her way to heal. And now she is gone.
  18. Diane, two little stars made their appearance in the sky yesterday. Leaving us with nothing else than sweet memories. Run free Magic. Teddy will travel with you.

In March this year, a little 12 year old whippet came into our home as a foster. Within 5 minutes he was in our hearts, 2 days later, we were officially adopted by him. Small as he was, he protected his three girls against any other dog, may it be a JRT or an Irish Wolfhound. About two weeks ago he started having difficulties breathing, a scratch in his throat the vet thought. Two days ago we found out it was much more serious. During our walk this afternoon I saw him struggle and than... he looked up to me asking me for help. A few hours later the vet came at our home and helped him to the bridge. He went so peacefully. Bye little brave one... Kit and Yarrah are waiting for you.
  20. Sweet Sophia, runs free at the bridge now I am so sorry Patricia
  21. Lydia, I am so sorry. Sweet Boo is without pain now.

    Yarrah

We loved her for almost 19 years. Today I had to let her go... We adopted her from a shelter when she was 4 months old, in September she would have turned 19. She was there when we married and when our son was born, she saw the arrival of those mean spanish dogs. She was there...almost half of my life. Today we said goodbye, it was time. She had a long, healthy life and was loved. Bye sweety
