5th Greyt Fest is next week, Oct 23, 2021 from 10am – 5pm we hope to see you there as a guest or volunteer or both! Greyt Fest is rain or shine as we are inside and outside Floral Hall this year. Address for the Shelby County Fairgrounds is 1513 Midland Trl, Shelbyville, KY 40065. The final agenda will be posted soon, on KyGreyhounds.org, but does include the Blessing of the Hounds at 12 noon and Patti Goettler speaking at 2 pm. Performing outside is live music, Tunes by Trent 10 am until about 1 or 2 pm. Dog nail trimming from 10 am – noon and again at 4.
All dog breeds are welcome. A section of Floral Hall will be a Sighthound Sanctuary inside Floral Hall for those hounds needing a break.

Speaker spotlight:
The priest, Lisa Tolliver, performing the Blessing of the Hounds is KyG’s very first adopter. Her and Teri’s hound, Tobit, are the center of this year’s event t-shirt celebrating 5 years of KyG.
Patti is the founder of Greyt Hearts Service Dogs, Inc., Greythearts.org, a service dog organization that primarily utilizes retired racing greyhounds as service dogs. She tells an amazing story about the breed we love.
Event spotlight:
Arts, Crafts and Hound vendors will be offering their items. Canine Games and “Corn-hole” tournaments will be throughout the day. The popular Paw-Draw, where “Everyone is a Winner” is back as are raffles. New this year is the Rainbow of Ribbons – for a donation, obtain a ribbon to honor a pet who has passed. Please hang your ribbon during the event and it can be taken with you if you wish or for an extra $1 ribbons can be mailed to you after the event. The KyG shop will have an assortment of items for sale including event t-shirts, see pic, (short sleeve $20 and long sleeve $25) and Celebrating Greyhounds desk ($21) and wall ($18) calendars. We can take orders on the shirts and calendars, email KyGreyhounds@yahoo.com. Postage extra if mailed.
