Still wet behind the ears

Still wet behind the ears (3/9)

  1. I tried using a harness. While we were in the car heading for the park, my beautiful greyhound was in the back seat chewing on the harness. It was strapped under her chest according to directions-but was now torn. I figured there was something wrong with the harness and bought another one. The same thing happened. I'm open to suggestions as to a particular kind of harness. Thanks
  2. Totally agree about VCA. I've been going to the same vet practice for years. Ever since VCA took them over, it's become more corporate and less the local practice. I'm not happy with the changes.
  3. I've read somewhere that it's not uncommon for greyhounds to "statue". Sometime I can persuade mine to keep walking by waiting a few minutes and then proceeding-and sometimes I just turn around and head for home! (I'm not sure who has trained who). What definitely has helped is walking with someone else and their dog.
  4. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it. As to "addicted"-it's hard not to be addicted to greyhounds!
  5. Yes, it is available for the Kindle! And, thank you Thank you so much! Enjoy the book! I will post a picture once I figure out how
  6. Hi LoveMyGrey+2, Thank you. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I hope you're all keeping warm in Florida. We're expecting some snow here-and some very cold weather for the next couple of days. My greyhound has a new winter coat, so she'll be nice and warm when we go out for our walks.
  7. Hi Patsy, As of now, "Dying to Walk" is only available as an ebook-so yes to Kindle. And thank you for your interest.
  8. Thanks for your comment. I hope you'll enjoy the book. It was fun writing it--and lots of good exercise walking with Mollie!
  9. Thank you Hidoey. I'm new to this website and you are the very first person to comment on "MyMollie". So thank you. I've been a dog lover from way back and have always adopted shelter dogs, never caring about breed or mixed breed. Until I met Mollie. I found her at the MSPCA in Boston. And fell in love with a greyhound!! It's no wonder that she is the star of "Dying to Walk".
  10. When we first saw Mollie at the MSPCA the assistant threw a ball and Mollie ran, chased it and brought it back. Very impressive. But that was the first and last time we ever saw her "fetch". Going for a walk, wagging her tail, eating treats and flopping on her mat--yes! Interested in chasing balls-or anything for that matter-no! So your dog's actions or inaction sounds pretty normal to me.
  11. I have four grandsons who are over quite a bit. My greyhounds have been very patient with them! We haven't had any issues.
  12. "Dying to Walk" by Longley Pinkerton (aka Felicity Long and Avis Pinkos) Daily walks in a quiet New England town with two friends accompanied by a rescued greyhound were the inspiration for this book. Turns out, it's not such a quiet town after all. There's infidelity, larceny and murder. Mollie, the very pampered greyhound is center stage along with mystery and laughs.
