I know this is a common question, Ive read lots of the posts already, would just like to get some info from people that know much more than me.
Zoopy is 9, has had a few paw issues over the last couple of years but all easily resolved, today however was different.
Walked him yesterday as normal, all good apart from I did notice a very slight limp on his last walk so cut it short just in case. Check pads when home, all seemed ok. This morning however he is holding his left front paw up and will not put any weight on it whatsoever, Ive taken him for bathroom breaks and hes hopped the whole way ( very short distance to grass area)
Took to vets tonight, examined and vet doesnt think its a pad issue but Zoopy was not at all happy with the examination of his leg and was getting aggressive and stressed ( he was muzzled)
Vet has given pain killers and said to come back Monday for X-rays if no improvement.
Obviously Ive now spent the evening online looking at sudden limping with no obvious trauma and its not looking good! Im also worried that I shouldnt have put him on pain killers as it may just mask a serious condition... if it is bad are the pain killers likely to work or would I not expect to see any improvement?
Thanks for any information
