  1. Awesome news for little Munchie!
  2. I've got a couple of photos of you and Munchie too!
  3. I can't take all the credit, there were several of us that took care of her on her journey. There are plenty more where they came from.
  4. Good thoughts for Munchie. You are doing what you feel is best for her, don't question that.
  5. No advice but I hope it's nothing serious for the little munchkin.
  6. Best wishes for little Munchie and hoping it isn't osteo.
  7. Thanks, Jay - she surely was...
  8. I'm sorry Mary, she was an adorable little thing.
  9. I don't think anyone is going to blame said company, but if others have bought the same thing from said company then we may re-evaluate/re-purchase from somewhere else.
  10. Interesting theory, he was laying on that leg before it happened so it could of gone numb but I don't think it would of cause this. It didn't seem painful at all. I was rubbing and massaging his leg and I think he whined once when I squeezed too hard. I was able to move his leg from collapsed to extended, but ever so often it would kick and shake.
  11. I was getting dressed this morning after a shower and Cody was laying on my bed doing some cleaning maintenance on himself, then he rolled over to take care of the other side and then started kicking his rear leg out and biting behind his knee. He does goofy things and those two have happened in the past but the leg isn't stopping moving so I get concerned. He tries to get up but has a hard time putting the leg under him. I get him off the bed and lay him on the floor and start to massage the leg and muscles. I'm not sure if it helped or not because every time he would get up he'd walk a few steps and then kick his leg out again and need to sit down. He was putting weight on it but it would just flail out suddenly. I finally calmed him down and called my vet, she was in another emergency but said she would call me back. I had Cody on the floor and was rubbing him and his leg it was still kicking and shaking. When things seemed to calm down a little he got up and was walking on it but was still having the spasms with it. Finally he laid back down and the spams were getting further apart until they just stopped. He was up and walking around like nothing happened. The vet called me back and is going on the cramp/spasm theory. If it happens again we'll be making a visit. The whole episode was probably 10-15 minutes long. I stayed home for another couple of hours to make sure he was ok and then went out and ran my errands. I've seen cramps where they don't want to stand on it or are limping, but never a full out spasm like that. Anyone ever seen anything like that? Idea what the causes are? Neurological comes to mind, but he was very alert and otherwise active. Seemed like whatever it was, was behind his knee because that is where he kept biting/nipping. This just after we recovered from whatever eye/mouth infection he had. Aye yai yai.
  12. Thread bump since Cody may have to go under again (and because I never answered your question)... Looking at the work order 3ml of Diazepam and 13.2ml of Propofol was used. In talking with my new vet, she said a true case of MH would be fatal unless Dantrolene was administered, which it was not for Cody. And also that a hound that had a true MH incident would do it every time, if they had uneventful surgeries in the past then it's not MH. She said his 104 temp was high, but not unmanageable (and she monitors temp). I gave her all the paper work I had for last years surgery so she can do what is best for Cody if he needs to go back for surgery.
  13. Agreed, but that's all the EPA has given as guidance. I've been perusing the Bayer website, I wish I could get a better/bigger picture of the package as well as a picture of the real tubes. All I know is that the dogs are doing well and are now flea-free. And unfortunately that EPA sheet is only for US versions, if you've bought from Petshed you have the AU version. Nope, bought mine from Amazon, it was from Save Mart in NJ (I think it was NJ). Ahh. I bought from PetShed and it looks almost exactly like the impostors in the photos from the link above.

  15. I'm skeptical for claiming its a fake just based on packaging. Manufactures change their packaging all the time. Merial would be the one to say if it's a legit package or not.
  16. I'm sorry to hear about True, C.
  17. No advice but good thoughts for little Munchie.
  18. Cody has been on Get Up and Go supplements since I got him at 3 (he is almost 11 now). Glucosamine, Chrondroitin and MSM, I buy a years supply at at time usually. Cody is still pretty active for a near 11 year old so I think they have helped a lot, considering his previous broken leg. Pinky wouldn't touch her food or anything else if it had the powder in it (she's a finicky little girl) but I recently found she likes the Dasuquin treats so now she is on those. So YMMV with the treats vs powder.
