  1. Nichole... I have a really good friend that has a collie with it. She does amazingly well. She knows her environment and navigates it well. When they travel they leave her at home but that is really the only thing they have worried about. She still can find a tiny piece of food in the house with her nose!! She does seem to still see shadows but the vet believes she is close to completely blind.
  2. He is beautiful!! Many for him! What is his race name...
  3. I went through FCE with my first, Rascal. We did all the tests and pred and some of his functionality came back and some of it didn't. In his case the mobility all came back but he never regained control of his bowel control and the urinary control got weaker with age. After a week and a half at a university hospital my local vet saw him. The first thing he said is that it could get better but I should consider if I could handle him the way he was because it might not get any better. It never really did improve after a few weeks. We did accupuncture and it really did help but whenever we tried to wean down on the visits his control got worse. It never bothered him really and he lived to be 12 1/2 and this happened when he was 7.
  4. I am so sorry that you are having this problem....I have never seen or dealt with that type of unpredictable behavior. I can not imagine having a dog attack without any type of provocation. I hope your adoption group can assist you and help you make the best decision for everyone.
  5. Hope he feels better soon! He is so beautiful...love his coloring...
  6. Scrambled eggs, hot dogs and ensure......a few other ideas to try.... Best wishes that he finds his appetite...
  7. What a heartbreaking story....still brought tears to my eyes even though it was not the first time I have heard it.... I am sure that Boo will have a fabulous life with you and Michael will take peace in that fact....
  8. What a beauty!!! Hope you are feeling better soon!
  9. Once I am out of the house it is okay...the hardest part for me is always walking out that door and Mollie gives me so much guilt and does nothing really...all in my head.
  10. Nancy...I am so sorry for you loss....Big hugs!
  11. Nancy...so sorry to read this...lots of and for you and Albi....
  12. What a wonderful tribute to a very special dog.... so sorry he had to leave so soon....
  13. No words of wisdom but just wanted to say that sucks....
  14. Just curious...has she exhibited any aggression to your girlfriend?
  15. I haven't decided to switch...just looking at other options....I did buy a bag of the Turkey version of Nature's Domain. It was not in the recall so I wonder if it is made in a different facility...going to start mixing it in with the salmon and see how it goes.
  16. I have only used that when nothing else is working. It has been something that is easy for a dog to lap up and get some nutrients. I don't think I would use it as long as your dogs are eating. For your purpoases I would look at some supplements maybe...I uses Fresh Factors from Springtime for my seniors and the Joint Support also. I think it makes a difference in mobility.
  17. Do not feel bad....I have had four greyhounds in my life...none of them have ever slept in bed with me. They have all been just fine...

    What a beautiful girl....Rest well....
  19. many good thoughts on the xrays not showing anything....hugs for you both... I showed up at the ER vet once with my little Pixie because she was very lethargic and will eat anything so I was convinced she had consumed something and was blocked. The vet thought I was nuts...took the xray...there was nothing wrong and I went home and slept peacefully. She was fine the next day. Sometimes you just have to know!
