  1. He is beautiful. Congratulations!
  2. I honestly don't know how she does those tight spins. Sometimes she even goes out in the yard and does them by herself when Doolin's not interested in being yelled at playing.
  3. Way to go, Amelia! You show those stairs who's boss. "Bopping along." Perfectly described.
  4. Willa, ~6 months post-amp: She is not vicious. She just plays like it.
  5. Thanks, Chris! @2greyhoundMINI We need an Amelia update to make the new thread official. Any issues after the first chemo?
  6. Sweep had some plaque (and some kicking breath sometimes), but her teeth were always declared "good" and she never lost any. The odd thing with my current two is that Willa's look a lot better than Doolin's—she has far less plaque and her breath is better, which is nice because she's a kisser. I guess that's one thing they don't share as siblings!
  7. 1. I bought these sleeveless shirts from Amazon and just sewed up one arm hole. (And then I turned one shirt into a piñata costume, but I digress...) If you have an old t-shirt you can spare, you can do the same thing and just tie up the excess fabric into a knot at her back. 2. That leg's doing a lot of extra work these days. Totally normal for it to be sore until she adjusts. Was she standing for a while at the vet appointments yesterday?
  8. Facebook. We need to see more of you around here, dude! I see you still take your naps very seriously.
  9. I wonder if he was thinking of one of the other immunotherapies, like FidoCure or Torigen or Elias. The Yale vaccine definitely does not require a sample of the tumor, just a diagnosis confirmed through biopsy and an anticipated survival time of at least three months. Again, no pressure or judgment either way, I just want to make sure you have accurate info! Amp and chemo are still the gold standard; anything extra is like you said: a roll of the dice.
  10. Happy birthday, gorgeous Wiki! Thank you for introducing "Wiki walkie" to the Greytalk lexicon and long may you continue your banditry!
  11. Fantastic update! It's awesome that she was able to start chemo today too; the sooner, the better IMO. Willa had 6 rounds of carboplatin and never any side effects, and I hope the same for Amelia! Next time you'll have to get her a plain cheeseburger afterward; Willa says that helps a lot. Have you thought any more about the vaccine? (No pressure, of course, just curious!)
  12. AnnIE. She is right on trend with the "unexpected red."
  13. Maybe not necessary, but definitely worth it! The support is helpful even if the exact information is available elsewhere (and it's nice that it's somewhat consolidated here). If it's a PITA for you, I'd be happy to start the new thread and check the links, etc.
  14. I'm so sorry for your sudden loss. Max lived a wonderful long life with you, but it is never enough time. It sounds like he had as perfect a last day as anyone could wish for. I hope your good memories of him will sustain you in the days ahead. Rest well, handsome boy.
  15. The staple theory makes sense. Neither of my girls had staples so I can't weigh in on that specifically, but they were definitely more comfortable when the sutures came out.
  16. Doolin and Willa agree, PBBs are the bestest ever! Enjoy, Nate!
  17. Four more sleeps, Amelia, and then you can chase whatever you want!
  18. Aww, I know that's hard to watch. She's still figuring so much out about this new body. Before long, she'll be doing a cute little rollover maneuver to get herself up from the "wrong" side. Willa faceplanted this morning on our walk. It's bound to happen sometimes, but my heart still leaps into my throat when it does. I think she overdid the zoomies in the yard before we went, and she was just tired and stumbled, but of course there's no spare leg to catch herself. She recovered quicker than I did, as per usual with these dogs...
  19. That's the face of a girl who regrets nothing!
  20. Woohoo! Do you know when she's starting chemo, or waiting to see at her recheck?
  21. Thank you! So helpful with their nudges, eh? I am getting them too, even though I can't even vote for her!
