  1. Sounds to me like he's just going to be a seizure dog. He's had 6 already within a couple months. I wouldn't try and wean him off. Doing so could lead to more and possibly worse seizures or clustering. Not good.
  2. Just type in Denta Sure and the site will come up. They have a two for one sale all the time.
  3. Frannie's the same way. We've had her for three years - she's had three dentals. I brush twice a day, morning with Oratene and nightly with either Petzlife or Denta Sure. I switch off between those two every other night. I have to say that since we started the Denta Sure her teeth are probably 100 percent better.
  4. Bully sticks here and preferably odor free (or else you'll be opening windows)!! Our first girl almost choked to death on a rawhide and our second girl cracked her tooth on a nylabone. Gave our girl we have now a raw beef bone and she actually knocked one of her teeth out chewing on it.
  5. A very sad time for you. Rest in peace sweet ones.
  6. I get mine at GNC. Organic, extra virgin. It's called Nutiva.
  7. Frannie does eat it - I give her a heaping tablespoon every night on her dinner.
  8. When Frannie came into our group she had a beautiful, full coat. After blowing her track coat, her hair was always thin and she had really dry skin. Tried switching foods (a lot) to no avail. Started her on fish oil and that didn't really do the trick either. Started giving her coconut oil and put her on the Springtime supplements, Fresh Factors and Joint Health. Boy, after three years of a thin, dry, brittle hair coat she's finally growing back that gorgeous coat she once had. Coconut oil does wondrous things, not only for people but for dogs too.
  9. I had the same problem with Frannie. I had switched her over to Taste of the Wild because I had read that it is one of the better kibble's to give a cancer dog. Started with High Prairie - good for a couple days and then the straining and crying while trying to poop started. Went to Pacific Stream - same thing, good for a couple days and then the straining again. Then went to the Sierra Mountain and she's been fine with that. A lot of greys don't do well on a lamb base but it's working for her.
  10. They gave it to Frannie when she was at the U for her resection because she was whining a lot and they thought she was stressed out. Frannie whines all the time every day, that's just Frannie. It kind of spaced her out, but it did keep her from whining! Has never been on it long term Kari so I don't know. Sure hope it works for Lucky. What a life saver that would be for you.

Sweet, gentle white boy. He always reminded me of a gentle giant. Rest well pretty boy, your mama will miss you forever. Hugs to you and your pups.
  12. We went through the same thing with two of ours. Their bodies just wear out and whatever you do, it doesn't help. With our first one, it got so bad that we'd have to hold her up to eat, and even then, she'd poop while she was eating and never even knew it was coming out. She couldn't stand for more than a minute without her rear giving out. She'd be sound asleep and poop and pee on her bed, every day, sometimes 2 and three times a day. It's very sad and one of the hardest decisions we've had to make. Her mind was as sharp as a tack but her body just wore out. It's not fair and I know the heartache you're going through.
  13. Frannie's a huge heavy nester. She'll even grab rugs and drag them all over and try and nest with them. Blankets, rugs, towels, whatever is on the floor is fair game to her. She's not doing it because she's cold, she's doing it because she's just a nester. Yup, she tries to nest up the carpet too, although she gives up on that quickly because it doesn't 'bunch' up like blankets and other things do. She sleeps in a kennel in our room at night with two big blankets. She will nest them around for a couple minutes and then lay down and sleep through the night though.
  14. Have you considered home cooking for her? We tried many different types of kibble and in the end, the only thing that worked was the cooked ground turkey, rice, carrots (cooked) and green beans (cooked). She was eating 15 cups a day and even then I couldn't get her to gain weight. I feel your pain...
  15. Make it his best Christmas ever. He has no idea what is happening, all he knows is that he is loved, and that's all that counts. My heart goes out to all of you that have had to deal with this dreaded disease with your beautiful loved ones and your continued dedication and love in trying to help them. Bless your hearts....you're good people.
  16. I'm so sorry it went so fast Jeni. Be strong for your little girl. Hold her close and whisper in her ear that she's only leaving for a while - she'll be happy and healthy again and running on four legs until you see her again. You're making the right decision, even though I know it's breaking your heart. You tried everything you could, but the Greyhound God's have a different plan now. She'll be fine, it's you that's left with the broken heart. You did well by your girl and gave her a wonderful home full of love for many years. Say goodbye to her with a smile on your face. She'll leave this world with that last memory of a mom and dad that loved her dearly and will never forget the sweet little brindle girl that made them so happy.
  17. You can do this Jeni. I know in the back of your heart you've been preparing for what could happen, all the while trying to help her the best you could and give her as long as possible. You've done that. She's a strong little fighter. Love her with all your might and let her go when you know it's time, knowing that you've done everything possible to try and make her better. You've done well sweetheart. I am so, so sorry for this news. Love you, Marcy
  18. My best wishes for you and your sweet one tomorrow Alicia. The first couple weeks will be stressful, but with every passing day he will get stronger and stronger. He's young and will heal quickly and be back to his old self in no time.
  19. Sweet little Python is fighting this horrid disease, just like so many of you trying to help them are. Keep up your good spirits for her. She's enjoying life to the fullest and has no idea what is happening. All she knows is that every day brings happiness from her little buddy Rose and her loving mom and dad. I'm so sorry for the latest news Jeni, just keep going day by day and give her as much love as you can. I'll keep praying for your little one, and for you to find the strength to get through this.
  20. Well, I tried the milk with Frannie - 1/2 cup on her dinner meal (2%). Next morning a nice soft poop came out. It worked for us!
  21. Ugh, why Jey? I just ordered some for Frannie.
  22. I was wondering about Miralax - I'll try it. So far no poop yet, but she's eating like a horse so it's gotta come out sometime.
