    Sorry, there is a problem

Something went wrong. Please try again.

On my desktop running Linux and Firefox.

  2. thanks pam, it's 250 per cup,. from what i see the light food is 130 calories per cup less....so, he's maintaining 74 # on nearly 4 cups a day at 380 per cup+1520 calories a day, he will need 6 cups per day....yikes that's a lot of poop!!!!. i'll see what the vet says.( it kills me, my good friend now has a warehouse in Ca. filled w/ natural balance food- a tad out of the way.....)

6 cups of 7% food has more total fat than 4 cups of 10% food.

  3. I don't remember Fly as being very afraid of thunder, and she doesn't mind snow, but my contact with her was limited to once a week.

Some new dogs at the kennel settle in rapidly, but she seemed to take a little longer than some but less than others.

Almost 3 weeks is almost no time.

I have a 10 year old that can hold it 24 hours because she doesn't like to get wet.(i don't either :) )

Just remember she is a Greyhound but she is still a dog.

  4. I don't know what good the FDA is going to do, they don't have a clue why 300 dogs have died.

They also think it's a great idea to grow chickens in the US, ship them to China for "processing" and return the result to the US

    without "processed in China" labeling.

Anybody want some unlabeled Chinese chicken soup?

  5. My adoption group gets many greys with broken legs. We currently have four in recovery out of 19 greys.

We have two 8'+10'pens in our outside turnout area the sick and injured are put in when their group is turned out.

When the cast is removed they usually are still penned for 2 or 3 weeks. After that time they go out into the large turnout yard alone at turnout for several weeks.

When the Vet or Medical Director decides the Grey has recovered enough it is returned to it's turnout group. I am unaware of any therapy used on our hounds.

  6. I had a diabetic cat and could never get his insulin dosage regulated on dry cat food. His glucose levels went from 250 to 50 and back to 250.

I finally decided to try canned cat food and bought a supply of 9 lives. His levels went to 95-115 with no insulin. It was evidently the carbohydrate amount in the dry food.

He lived 6 years on canned food without insulin and died of liver/kidney failure at 17.

    Food can make a difference.

ps. I have a One Touch Ultra blood glucose meter if anybody needs one. Works good but needs a battery.
