  1. When one of my greys needed an amputation, they took an extra vertebrae below the amputation point to make sure that it had enough skin to heal. Having the plastic syringe over the amputation helped prevent injuring healing tail. I would ask for pain meds for your dog! The silver lining: once the tail heals (and it does take time), your grey won't remember having a long tail and will be perfectly happy and healthy!
  2. My skittish girl Silky does this during the rare occasions we get t-storms. She also tells off the July 4th fireworks!
  3. I had a grey that needed to amputate part of his tail. It took a while to heal. One thing to have the vet tech do to protect the end was to cover it by taping a large syringe over the bandages (also prevented chewing). Once it healed, he was perfectly happy and wagged his half tail joyfully!
  4. My sister's 15 year old mix has been diagnosed with kidney failure. The vet recommended Hills Science Diet low residue/kideney formula. My sister is not happy with Science Diet. Any other makers of low residue diets that are better than SD?
  5. I am so sorry about Ryan. I have been reading about him for years. Such a sweet boy. He will be missed.
  6. Does anyone have the recipe for the meatballs to add weight to a dog? I know that I have seen it post it here before. A friend's grey has cancer and I would like to send her the information. Thanks in advance.
  7. Sally looks so cute in her sweater! I am happy that it fits so well.
  8. Bacci and Silky just opened their SS gifts this morning. They are both enjoying the toys and the treats. Bacci and Silk's humans will enjoy the Tennessee BBQ sauce later this week, and we have already sampled the truffles! Have a great holiday! Lisa and the greytspuds, Bacci and Silk
  9. Thanks so much for the SS package! We just opened it this morning. The grunting goose is Bacci's favorite new toy (and Silky, my other grey, steals it when he is not looking). They will get the Merrick sausages as treat for Christmas dinner, and we will look for some pictures to put in the frame. And Bacci will enjoy lounging on his new personalized blanket. Happy Holidays! Lisa and the greytspuds, Bacci and Silky

  15. I remember when you lost Fudgie. I can't believe it has been two years. I will be thinking of you today. Give Goods an extra scritchie for me.
