  1. 3yo foster male. elevated blood pressure at 200, Vet has him on blood pressure meds . Glucose is normal so no diabetes. UTI clear.  Having  to wear belly band 24/7 with incontinence pad. was neutered 1 1/2 yrs ago . Came with bunch of NGA dogs from a blood bank in Calif. Goes out to yard every 3-4 hours and can still fill the pad. Can't figure this one out. Just not adoptable at this point

  2. Our last guy had CCL for 2 years. It was caught with bloodwork for a dental. Vet says it was the better blood disease to have. Acute is almost deadly within weeks  diagnosis. There was no cure or treatment for    chronic CCL. His blood work declined month after month however no symptoms  ever showed. We let him go a day early than a day late, as the saying goes. Vet said he should not even be standing up with his lousy blood value.

  3. Yes the good old days. Driving out to p/u a new foster every month or two. We managed over 70 in the past. Some good ,some  so so. We made a difference in THEIR lives and they ours. I currently own 3 and a standard poodle. After our group shut down, I joined up with an active  group in Tarpon Springs. They have been getting greys from Ark, Iowa and W Virginia. Dozens have come in from Ireland. We did foster 2 from Ireland. They are not the same as our American kids.  All they want to eat is bangers and mash and Bushmills

  4. Gold Coast Greyhounds  has American and Irish dogs. They are in Tarpon Springs but dogs are in foster homes in tri-county. I have 2 from them in the past year. My foster from them is going to a home in Savannah. You must put in Application to get the ball rolling. Allegent flys into St Petersburg. ( my location) Rent a car and drive back to Punta Gorda

  5. So far 60 fosters and not a bath. I do think they got a bath at the farm or track kennel before sending them off. I needed to bathe my own grey when a foster misdirected aggression from barking dogs behind our fence ripped a hole in our 12 yo grey. He can back from ER on a Sunday with caked blood under his belly and crotch. Do not leave your grey at a groomer ( Petco) and go pay the cashier. I looked through the window and 3 groomers had manhandled my dog making him stand on a table 4feet off the ground while attempting to grind down his nails.

  6. A baby gate at the top of the stairs will prevent falls during the night. Hope the stairs have carpet. Agree with sleeping in the room wherever that ends up. My first 2 needed muzzles in the beginning, misplaced aggression happened when approaching new dogs. Good luck Visit a Meet & Greet for lots of info, greyhound folks are never at a loss for words. Welcome to the cult
