  1. All good advice above. I will add to remember to look in the direction that you want to go. If you stand there looking down at the dog, the dog is not going to move. Keep your eyes up and your entire body language will change to language that encourages your dog to move.
  2. Ducky, would you please add our friend and honorary camper, Nike, to September's list. He was an Icelandic Geiserhound (pound puppy). Thank you.
  3. Nike has been our good friend and honorary camper ever since he was sprung from the pound in February, 1999. He was almost 16 and was best buds with Tom (great dane) and Pal. He and Pal were Two Old Guys. Nike's health had been failing and this morning his people got the sign that it was time. Godspeed Nike . You have so many friends waiting at the Bridge to show you the ropes, and there are still Milk Bones every night at 8:00pm
  4. So Calmplex can be given as needed? I was thinking of trying this for Seamus during t'storm season and wasn't sure how to administer it. Every day? Seamus is a terribly reliable weather forecaster and although he has improved tremendously (less hiding out in his bathroom cave, etc.), I wonder if Calmplex might be worth a try.
  5. My heart goes out to you. You are the best dog dad and Tempo knew that. I am so very sorry for the Tempo-sized hole in your heart right now. Please take care of yourself.
  6. Oh Carla, I can't believe this. I am so terribly sorry your beautiful, funny girl has left. My heart is breaking for you. How is Streak doing?? :grouphug Godspeed Jonelle, you will be so very missed.
  7. I'd forgotten all about Springtime so thank you for this thread. Seamus (13.3 y.o.) just got started on Fresh Factors
  8. Sweet potato, green beans, carrots, apples. My young'uns love these.
  9. The girl with the magical name. Happy Bridge birthday, Bee Wiseman and hugs to your family who miss you so.
  10. So glad to hear this! The green bag is good! /not to hijack, but tyguy7760 your siggy made me /
  11. I am so very sorry. What a sweet boy. I remember your vacation pictures, too, and thinking what a swell time for your dogs to enjoy. Godspeed Kingsley.
  12. Judy, I am so very sorry. What a sweet, sweet girl. I just can't believe it.
  13. As mentioned above, Sarge's inappetance may not be due to the Tylan. Had he been eating (anything?) prior to starting Tylan? I see that he was. Is there some food that he does enjoy that you could wrap the capsules in? Three capsules sounds like a lot - how much are you putting in each? If you are feeding straight Tylan (w/o filler), the dose is only something like 1/8-1/4 tsp BID. Lots of good suggestions above to help your senior. And thank you for bringing him home. eta, claudia have you tried going back to some of the foods he previously refused to see if he might try them?
  14. How are you dispensing the Tylan? It is Very Bitter, which may be why Sarge is refusing his meals. I put it in plain capsules and dispense with the vehicle of the day: peanut butter, liverwurst, cheese ... stuff like that. Sarge eta: Sorry, went back to see that you are using capsules. Please be very sure that there is no powder residue on them, b/c even a little bit will be nasty.
  15. Your beautiful boy. I'm so very sorry.
  16. My seniors sometimes aren't interested in breakfast but eat well the rest of the day. She ate a total of 3 cups of the old food per day which is the same amount of the new food I am giving her. Do the guidelines of the new food suggest that three cups is what Jonelle should be eating? Soo frustrating when you just want them to EAT!
  17. Welcome home, Annie She looks totally settled and she is gorgeous (even when she's had it with the flash box )
  18. You and Wink both shared something incredibly amazing, and your flowing, beautiful tribute showed that.
  19. :yay You did it!!! She Is Gorgeous!! I am so happy for all of you!
