AnnIE - Happy Birthday gorgeous girl! (Where are your other 2 slippers?)
I can't wait to see what adventures you have today.
-
I hope they are finished soon, Punkin.

Happy Bridge Borthday, buddy. It's hard to beleive that you would be 18 years old now. We miss you every day.

I just ordered a small bottle of another brand that is supposed to be pure salmon oil. Will report back after we try it.

I couldn't always find the Salmon oil, so I had to switch to the Pollack oil. Then that got hard to find so I had to switch to what they're calling Omega Health. It's a blend of Salmon and Pollack oils plus some other stuff. I don't think they're making just the straight salmon oil anymore.
But we didn't have any upset here from the switch. We hardly ever do though, so your experience may vary.
Thanks for that. I was trying to figure out the differences as the labels are all very similar. The product pictures on Amazon have moslty been updated to the Omega product, so even if it was previously a listing for the Salmon Oil, it is now showing the Omega product.
It's the Omega Health that is causing the diarrhea. Our previous bottle was whichever of the previous products they have been shipping forever. I can only go by my order history but the bottle received isn't always identical to the product listing, I think we tried this Omega Health product a long time ago with similar results on a different hound.

Is anyone else having an issue with Grizzly Salmon Oil and stomach upset / diarrhea? We have a new bottle and Gracie has now had diarrhea twice since receiving it. It appears from the label that they could have changed the mix of oils, or is this just a rebranding/new label?
We've used this for years without issues, but this is the only thing that has changed and the timing coincides with the start of the diarrhea.

My family's been going there since I was 9(!). Hurricane Michael did a number on the area a few years ago and some of the businesses and restaurants (like Boss Oyster) never recovered, but it's still as quaint and beautiful as ever. I loved being there this time of year. Perfect mid-70s weather during the day, cool in the morning and night, and even less traffic than usual. You need to get back there. It has healing properties, as Doolin can attest to.
That storm went through a couple of years after our last visit and we watched the developments at Boss Oyster in the press after that. We last stayed in one of the little boutiqe hotel / restaurants in Appalachicola that also did not bounce back after the storm and is now out of business. My Boss Oyster T-Shirt finally bit the dust about a year ago and could not be worn due to all of the screenprinting ink crumbling off of it.
I hope the town eventually recovers and has the funding to do so.

St. George Island and Appalachicola is one of our favorite areas. It's been over 10 years since we've gotten there but it's definitely on the list for a return visit. (Now I want Oysters)
Beautiful pictures and a great break after all you guys (and hounds) have been through!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
In a break from tradition, I'm having Chicken Enchiladas, with beans and rice, all from my favorite Mexican place. The whole turkey thing was a little too much work this year. I don't know how Seamie does it every holiday.

I remember Carl and Doodles.
Rest well, Connie.

I missed the original post. Congratulations!

You go, AnnIE. Just remember that your sister likes scones too.
My mind immediately went to the day we came home to find all of the WhataBurger wrappers and cartons strewn through the kitchen and living room. Miss Kate did apparently like her Whataburger. She is also the reason our trash can now has a locking lid.

You know, I think we are going to need some video of the Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Nice Job, AnnIE!

I just saw this. Looks like a great weekend. The adoption group has your number - trust me.
We've only had one dog go back to the group after arriving here and that was because there was a big issue with the other dogs. They almost never leave here once they arrive.

2 years ago today, Mark arrived with his sister Diva after their human Mom fell ill suddenly and passed away. They had been together since 2015. Just a few weeks later, Diva started limping, and left us when she was diagnosed with Osteo.
Since that time, Mark has been the most excellent big brother to LaVida, put-uperer of Stella, and now big brother of Gracie. He is one awesome dude!
Happy Gotcha Day, buddy. We will be celebrating with fries and ice cream later this week. We love this boy!

Apparently Gracie knows how to remove a clean Kleenex from the dispenser. We keep finding new tissues on the floor. We know that Mark doesn't have that kind of driver or energy.

Willa you made me laff!

Congratulations, Irene and Len! She is gorgeous!
Life with a broodie will be fun! Make no mistake, she is now in charge of your house.
We hope to meet her the next time we are in town.

Looking great, Manny!

Gracie Goes To Starbucks

Apparently it is a well known fact that a pup cup is dangerous. She would have nothing to do with it. The girl who jumps in the air when I put cottage cheese on her food and who had special instructions from her previous owner that "she gets 6 ounces of 2% milk after a walk" wanted nothing to do with the whippy cream from Starbucks. Go figure.
Mark said he will go next time.
