  1. Yay for no side effects! You're doing great, Milo!
  2. With 3 dogs here now we have no lack of it. We have Cash For Gold places on every corner but no Cash For Poop places. We also bag it and it goes into the regular trash collection. For the stuff that can't be bagged we just hose it down until it's gone. We are fortunate that we can leave the hose on year-round, but when we lived in the snow belt I would just take a bucket of hot water from the faucet and wash down anything that couldn't be picked up.
  3. This segment was really well done. I was impressed with the way they presented everything.

  5. He is one handsome dude! Happy Gotcha Day Mr. Mooney!
  6. I miss that boy so much! I'm pretty sure we all do.
  7. Run-free, Hada. We've always loved seeing your pictures and hearing about you since you arrived at Ducky's house.
  8. Happy Thanksgiving! We need the other pic too. You know which one.
  9. I'm so sorry, Ducky. She had the best part of her life with you. Run-free Georgie Girl.
  10. November is one of those months that has a lot of history in our house. I decided to make one post for all instead of multiple posts. Tomorrow - 11/24 - Thanksgiving is Rocket's Birthday. I still miss that boy every day. Don't forget to spoil your hound with some fries in Rocket's honor this weekend or when you get a chance. November 5, 2021 was Mark and Diva's Gotcha Day in our house. As you know they arrived as "fosters" on that day after their owner passed away, and only a few weeks later Diva went to the Bridge due to Valley Fever and Osteo. She was not here nearly long enough. Diva's Birthday was November 18. She turned 11 that day and started limping. She is also very much missed. Mark has gotten french fries several times this month to celebrate his Gotcha Day. Then there was the happening on November 9 this year. I waited to post this, as I'm still not sure which of our hounds was trying to send a message to let us know everything is okay. The conditions for rainbows don't happen often here in Phoenix, so I assume that one of them had to take the opportunity during a rare rain here to send the message below without it happening on a notable date for us. These rainbows were visible all over the Phoenix area for almost an hour. The colors kept increasing and decreasing on each one. I would not have normally been outside to see this but just happened to take some trash out at that time. One or more of those bridge kids was letting us know that all is well.
  11. Happy Birthday, Punkin! The hounds of Camp Broodie say you should come visit!
  12. I thought for a minute she was going to have lamb for breakfast. Love those girls!
  13. Happy belated Gotcha Day, Logan. Rocket always said that gray in his face made him look "stinguished."
  14. Good to see you again Tammi. We have made some awesome friends here (who are really more like family.) I don't do Facebook or other social media other than reading garbage posts on Reddit which is more like tabloid content to me. Our greyhound family is here on GT. We still have the Pimp Hat that Miss Donna made for Rocket, and one of Lexie's Hats that Miss Donna also made. Each of our kids have worn those hats (at least for pictures). Unfortunately, we lost Miss Donna to an illness a few years ago, so she is now with our bridge pups taunting them with new hats. Thanksgiving is Rocket's birthday, so we will be having French Fries for Thanksgiving Dinner. Lexie's parents do not have any dogs at this point but we are still in touch with them and they are doing well. Lexie's Mom still pops in here from time to time and I know she is on Facebook as well.
  15. Annie was hoping to stay by the fireplace today. Pretty coats, girls!
  16. Not sure if you are referring to the wire type basket muzzle or the plastic type that is commonly referred to in the US as a kennel muzzle. Here's a link to a kennel muzzle in case it's not what you have. The kennel muzzzle can be left buckled and just slipped in place over the head. https://gemstore-185419.square.site/product/muzzle/34?cs=true&cst=custom
  17. It took me quite a while to be able to look at pics of Rocket and I couldn't watch his videos for a really long time. We've had a parade of seniors and some dogs in rough shape through here since, and while it never gets easier to lose one, I find that I don't dwell on or think about those little details either. After a few months, I did find that I could laugh again about something one of them did - sucn as Kate who was so proud of herself for strewing the trash from our Whataburger dinner all over the kitchen. She raided the trash can the next day while we were gone. We still have the locking trash can in honor of Kate. It takes time, and I don't think there's any one thing I can tell you that would really help immediately, but give it all the time you need. Eventually you will find yourself telling a story about one of them and laughing at their antics like you did when they were here. It caught me by surprise when it finally happened. It is okay to miss them, but it is also okay to not think about it if you're not ready to.
  18. One of our hounds (I think it was Petunia )had an extra nail grow out the side of her toe. We had to keep it dremeled. I'd probably let the vet deal with it since you are going anyway. Maybe wrap the foot with vet wrap to avoid snagging the nail.
  19. Happy Birthday, Buddy!1 12 is awesome! You are one handsome dude.
  20. I must have missed this post. We adopted a bonded pair (boy and girl) who's owner passed away suddenly. Unfortunately, Diva, the girl of the pair, started limping shortly after arrival and by week 3 we had confirmed that she had Osteo. She got progressively worse and went to The Bridge after just a few weeks with us. Her brother, Mark (big, goofy boy Mark in my other posts) very obviously knew that she was sick. When she left us, he did okay on his own. Just a month or two after that, another local GH owner passed away and her hound was in the apartment with her for several days before she was found. We took in LaVida the morning that the group picked her up and she made herself at home. She and Mark became buddies right away, and it's like they have both always been here. We have had Mark for a year and LaVida will be here for one year in January. We did see the pair (Mark and Diva) relying on each other, but they were very well adjusted dogs. Mark relied on Diva to do most everything for him, and it turns out that he was just a lazy boy who let her do everything. She would let us know when he wanted out, or she would make sure to take him out when she went. They each left food for the other in each of their bowls, and at the end of the meal they would switch bowls and finish the other's food. There were lots of little things we picked up on during the time they were together here. Mark is now pretty self-sufficient about things, but he and LaVida do walk together and go out to lay in the sun together. I would not hesitate to take in hounds that were in another home together. We have taken in mostly seniors the past few years, and while losing them was hard, I will take in seniors anytime.
