  1. Matt, Do I know this dog? Kathy
  2. So sorry to hear of your loss. Kathy
  3. Just throwing this out as a possibility. If you look at Cinder's race lines there is a gap from Jan 2007 to Aug 2007. She might have had an injury and was worked back. Sometimes those old injuries flair up and cause some limping. My dog Harry had a stopper bone injury and he will sometimes limp on his front leg and it will also swell up. I just reduce his activity level and in a few days he is fine. Hope it's nothing serious with Cinder. Kathy
  4. I had Royal Fawn, in the pet kennel at Sanford Orlando, before the hauler picked her up. She was very playful and tried to get the other females, in the turnout pen, to play. Some of the other girls were not too happy with her but, I thought she was absolutely adorable. Kathy ACT Greyhound Adoptions
  5. Chad and Stephanie, Please contact me directly at actgreyhounds@cfl.rr.com I run an adoption group that works with Sanford Orlando and I just talked to the trainer and her assistant from the racing kennel that Chase was in. Kathy ACT Greyhound Adoptions
  6. Almost 20 years ago my first greyhound developed corns. I would massage her paws with Udder Cream and then hull the corns till they came out. They would come back but, I would do the same procedure everytime. My current dog developed a corn approximately one year ago. I soaked his paw in a wet wash cloth, wrapped in a baggie, for approximately 20 minutes to a half hour. I would dry is paw and then massage the Udder Cream into his paw. About a week after I started daily treatments the corn came off when I rubbed it with my fingernail. It has not come back. Kathy
  7. I've been chatting it up with Brad lately, and he is excited for her. I think a play date is in order when we get up to his area later this year for Super and his grey. We are in love with Super. It's been agonizing sitting at home with empty dog beds. DH and I both know we will be chippers---just not right away. I'm glad you and Brad have connected, he really likes his dogs especially CueBall. Kathy
  8. If Super is anything like her littermate, Kentucky Carol, you are going to love her. We had Kentucky Carol in our home for 2 months and she was just sent to an adoption group in New York. Very friendly, nice meet and greet dog, a real sweetheart. Their owner is a personal friend and I know he will be happy to hear Super has a home. 9. He looks just like U Betcha Eddie whose name was also changed to Indy. Regarding your dog...air snapping is not unusual. Harry, who I've had since he was a puppy, air snaps at me all the time. He rarely does it to anyone else. He will also grab my hand, in his mouth, when he wants something and I am walking away. He has never hurt me but, I don't let him get out of hand. As far as dogs knowing about an impending pregnancy...I had a collie mix, when I was pregnant with my daughter, and she most definately knew something. When I would sit on the floor, and watch TV, the collie would lay next to me and put her head on my stomach. She would never leave my side. After my daughter was born the collie was very protective and would't let any strangers near her. Congratulations on your wife's pregnancy and the adoption of Indy. Kathy ACT Greyhound Adoptions
  10. My dogs will eat anything also. Lettuce, cabbage, carrots, green beans, squash, watermelon, nectarines, peaches, oranges, bananas, apples (especially with cheese), the list is endless. The only thing they DON'T eat is poop, which I am so thankful for.
  11. Standing water is a breeding ground for mosquitos. http://www.ehow.com/how_4450990_kill-mosquitoes-standing-water.html
  12. Do you know if your dog had any racing injury? My dog had a stopper bone injury while he was racing and if he runs too hard or too long he will start limping and it can last for weeks. It's just his old injury flaring up. Kathy
  13. How much do you use of each (Dawn and Listerine) and do you spray each separately or mix it together?
