  1. My baby girl--although there was no question who's girl she really was. Daddy, daddy, daddy. Go out? Nope, not unless it's daddy. Of course, she knew he would break out the treats for her. This is my favorite picture. Auntie Carol's whistle brought those ears right up into a perfect pose. The house is way too quiet without P2. There are way too many rugs everywhere (because walking on tile was her nightmare). There are way too many jars of treats and bags of treats and piles of toys. They all leave a hole in your heart, but this one is deep. Love you lots my Pretty Petunia.
  2. Thank you for loving so many, so well. The newcomer party at the Bridge is crowded this month. Seamie must be busy chefing for his friends.
  3. Hard to believe it's been a year without our favorite Chef. But I love love love that we never lose their spirit through this community. Hugs!
  4. I'm so sorry for your loss. Jimmy had a wonderful life with you.
  5. Thinking of you. Is there anyone at vet med consulting on this?
  6. You are a good mommy. Keep us posted. Rocket paced the floor all night worrying. (well, at least mentally he was pacing).
  7. Tricia & Burke - My heart is breaking for both of you. Although a piece of your souls has slipped away, your hearts are so much larger for the love and the time you shared with Bee. Hold on to all of those wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing her with the rest of us as well. - Chris
  8. We've been through several similar rounds of this with Rocket--from perfectly kickable poo to runs seemingly overnight. Vet can never find an issue. As soon as we change out the food, the problem seems to go away. Of course, it's always after we buy a big new bag of food. I don't know that it is any particular brand, so much as a particular batch that happens to come through the line. He's been on TOTW lamb for a couple of weeks now and everything is coming out fine. AND he's incredibly soft.
  9. So shocked when I saw this on Facebook. Your tribute is beautiful and has moved me to tears. I loved Gustopher's adventures. I'm so sorry for your loss--our loss. Chris
  10. Please add: MyCutie (Chris) Mahomet, IL
  11. Welcome! We've been drooling over Popeye since he came on the list, so glad to know where he is. Hopefully we'll meet at an Indy event (the September picnic was a lot of fun). And let us know if you come up to the Champaign area. There will be greyhounds at the Farmer's Market here the third Saturday of each month. I'd be glad to connect you to the group if you are interested.
  12. And I thought people medicine was a ripoff! Glad I asked. Thanks!
  13. It's time to update Rocket's rabies vaccination and registration. The vet offers a one year and a 3 year vaccination. Last year we went with the one year since I wasn't sure if greyhounds might be adversely affected somehow by a (presumably) stronger 3 year. Are there any standard recommendations for greys? Thanks!
  14. Poop report: Since going on the boiled ground beef/smooshy pasta diet Tuesday night, we've gone from runny poop to bouncing poop to not wanting to poop. Today's specimen's were more like jelly poop. This was his last day of flagyl. If he's not better by Monday, it's time for the vet. Any other thoughts?
  15. I prefer the term "relaxed." Rocket "relaxes" a lot.
  16. Rocket's not shedding too much THIS week. One of the biggest surprises of being a new greyhound mommy the past 8 months has been how much this non-shedding breed sheds. As someone above said, if I could knit, I'd have a closet full of sweaters.

    I'm so sorry.
  18. I'm so sorry to hear about Jed. Even though we've never met, it feels like we know him. Losing dogs on GT is losing family.
  19. Poor Emmy! Poor you!! Time for new landscapers.
  20. So sorry. I loved seeing Loca on GT.
