Hi all,
I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided to join. We are owned by Birdie, a 9 year old male JRT(error) who we adopted when he was almost 3 (I believe we're his 4th home), and Tigerlily (I know, I know but if you saw my backyard the third week in July when we got her you'd understand--hey when I learn to post pics you will see) Lily for short, a 4 year old GH. We couldn't be more pleased with our big gal. Her arrival story is sort of interesting--I indirectly have Michael Vick to thank ...
We lost Clarice, our mixed breed girl in March of 2007. We were devastated, and were in no way ready to get another dog. Fast forward to July 2007 when all that stuff came to light with Michael Vick. I was angry, disgusted, and felt I had to do something. Like I needed to adopt a dog, any dog, that needed a home. I was aimlessly surfing the internet one day and came across the Greyhound Friends of New Jersey website and gasped when I saw a fawn colored dog with soulful eyes, a dog that reminded me so much of Clarice. A beautiful Greyhound.
After much discussion, my DH and I decided to apply, and were matched up with Odwilla, a red brindle tall drink of water. We renamed her Lily (Tigerlily) and the rest, as they say, is history.
We are looking forward to learning a lot and getting to know you fine folks and your beautiful hounds.
