  1. I'm so sorry your beautiful girl had to leave. Godspeed Allie, you'll be missed.
  2. Sammy, my sweet and happy chow hound, has been "off" since last evening. Normally, he almost knocks me over for food, but he has been barely interested. He eats, but without gusto. When I have started to get ready to take him for a walk each time since last night, he's just laid on the dog bed or in the crate until I call him to come to me -- usually he is running through the house like "oh boy, we're going out!!!". He hasn't gotten into trash or anything that I can find. He hasn't had any food or treats outside of his usual stuff. He hasn't thrown up. I gave him some Pepcid (with vet approval) to see if he has a bit of sour stomach. He is peeing fine and pooping pretty normally for him (we have been battling hookworms since I adopted him). The term I used with the vet is "muted", he's just sort of muted. He hasn't played with his toys since yesterday morning. I want my happy and bouncy boy back. I took him to the vet today. She couldn't find anything wrong, heart and lungs sounded good, orthopedic was good, no tenderness in the belly. She did bloodwork and a tick panel and I should have at least some of the results tomorrow. Please think good thoughts for my boy. Thanks for reading. And, because I know the rules, here is a picture of him playing with toys from a few weeks ago:
  3. I'm so sorry. I'll be keeping you and Murphy in my prayers.
  4. I got a SkidStop bowl for Sammy. I alternate it with the Interactive feeder. They have made a difference in the speedy eating. I'm considering adding a maze feeder. Sammy seems to do better if I rotate things. He also uses a Kong wobbler and biscuit ball and a JW Holee ball for treats. The only dud was the squirrel dude...even with cutting the tabs, the food gets stuck.
  5. Mandy was not a Galgo, but I have no doubt she will greet him at The Bridge and help him feel safe and secure. Also, tell him to look for my Grandma (Marie), she loved all dogs and I'm sure she'll love to keep him company until you meet again.
  6. Oh, how horrible. Godspeed sweet Hazel.
  7. I remember when she was in the foster program, she was such a sweet girl, but so nervous at Meet & Greets. She had such a happy life with you. Godspeed Symbra.
  8. I'm so sorry your beautiful girl left you. Godspeed Winnie.
  9. I'm so sorry. Godspeed beautiful Gracie
  10. What a lovely tribute to a beautiful girl. I'm so sorry she's gone. Godspeed Sorella
  11. The WWW harnesses are great, I've used them with several fosters. I bought Sammy a harness from Silk Road Collars. I like that it is adjustable in 5 places and is lined in faux fur (his fur is pretty thin). Several years back, Dr. Kellogg had suggested I start using a harness because it reduces the pressure on the dog's neck.
  12. I use a harness from Silk Road Collars. Sammy doesn't have a neck issue, but his neck is WAY bigger than his head. I call him my linebacker! I like the harness because it is adjustable in several places.
  13. I'm so sorry. Godspeed Beautiful Jazzy
  14. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl. She was so much like my Mandy. Hopefully they have met up at the bridge, where there are no thunderstorms or fireworks. Godspeed Charlotte Grace, you'll be missed.
