  1. My girlie only likes it with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon! It's a surefire way to get her to eat if we are on vacation and she's being finicky!
  2. Our first grey Katy Sue had it but had no symptoms. We found it when we had a tick panel done. Treated her with something (God it's been years and I don't remember what it was) and she was fine. How long has it been since Kowalla passed? Maybe Chance is missing him?
  3. Our Bridge boy Marco would only walk on the red line at Petco. If he was walking past the treat bar and someone was picking out treats and was in his way, he would give a HUGE sigh, as if to say, get OUT of my way! and stand there till they moved!!
  4. Westbridge Veterinary in West Bridgewater is awesome! They treat all of the GPA MA adoptables and are VERY grey savvy. It's on RT 106 right off of RT 24. They are also known as NEAMC http://neamc.com/
  5. did you check outside near the door (my end up under the shrubs near the door occasionally)
  6. If you have a local tack shop, maybe they would have it.
  7. Just found out that friends have started using the powdered one. It seems to be ok. The dogs will eat it on their food. Haven't heard any comments other than that yet because they just started it last week.
  8. No clue, but you might tell them to give the dog 1/4 of a baby aspirin every day in case it was a stroke. We were told by a very greyhound savvy vet that it can help prevent another one from happening. Start this ASAP.
  9. We have the same issue here, only I'M the one with SA!!! I hate being away from my babies.
  10. DAMN DAMN AND DOUBLE DAMN. So sorry Steve.
  11. Our old boy (now at the Bridge) would stand in front of you and not move unless we told him to "Take some steps". Then he would step away. One that all of our pups have done is one that we didn't actually train them to do. When we want them to go to their crates, we tell them "Go to work!". Apparently when Mamma Martha was getting ready toleave for work, she would say "ok, it;s time to go to work." then she would give them a cookie and put them in the crates. Now they hear go to work and they put themselves in their crates. Too cute
  12. any tack shop shoud have it. We got it online at www.123tack.com I believe. It's a liquid. If you get the equine version (MUCH cheaper and practically the same formula) you add about a teaspoon on each meal (2 teaspoons per day). Hope it helps. It did with Durango. After about three or four days he seemed to be moving a bit easier. Halise
  13. Irene, have you tried putting Actiflex 400 (the equine version is cheapest) on Paul's food? Linda Jensen suggested it for our poor arthritic boy and it really seemed to help. Halise (L'Shana Tova)
  14. We used to have to bring Charlie Bear treats (small dry treats) with us. We'd hold one over the bowl and let Katy take it, then another, then we would "accidentally" drop one into the water. After looking at us like we were idiots for dropping a perfectly good treat in the water she would retreive it, slurping up water with it. We would keep doing this till she got the idea that drinking away from home was ok.
  15. Has she had the allergy blood test? We had a little girlie that was chewing herself to pieces. The vet suggested the blood test. Turns out she was allergic to practically everything! Her poops were fine thank goodness, but allergies can affect lots of things. We ended up feeding her Hills ZD Ultra (basically chicken, air and water LOL). The protein was broken down like they do in some baby formula so even if she had been allergic to chicken it would not have affected her. Hope you find something that works. Poor munchkin!
  16. Thinking of you and Buddy. My Ziva will be waiting for him. She passed from lymphoma in May. It sucks
  17. try cranberry caplets. Our Bridge boy JJ used to get them all the time. The vet suggested the prescription (i.e. EXPENSIVE!) food. Jokingly I said "we should just give him cranberry jiuce". The vet thought about it for a minute and said to try it if he'll drink it. We put it on his food. He ate it! Then we were going camping for two weeks on vacation and we didn't want to carry around a ton of juice so we tried the caplets. He never had another problem with crystals. Worth a shot in my book! Halise
  18. Our first grey loved loved loved women, especially blonde women. She was terrified of men. My unkle was dying of cancer when we got her. He asked us if we could bring her to his house so he could meet her. We told him that she didn't like men, but he asked us to please bring her. We did. The little stinker walked over to him, hopped up on the couch and put her head in his lap. She layed there while he petted her for a long time. She knew who she liked and didn't like and apparently he was one of those she decided that she liked.
  19. Ummmm, we live in southeastern Massachusetts! Halise
  20. You should see the rest of his body! Boy howdy, that boy is RIPPED!! Took the picture right after he came off the hauler. He was peeing (for at least an hour and a half) when I took the picture so I figured I'd spare him the indignity and just make it a head shot!
  21. About a year and a half. He is about 3 1/2 now. Seemed like forever!
  22. That is the only one I have here at work. I promise more later! He is a very handsome red red red boy. But in the mean time, here are the two girls he now lives with. Berry (the blue princess) and Ziva (the sweet brindle).
  23. The last few years that the tracks in Massachusetts were open they had a big Greyhound Pet Expo. The last year they had the Expo, we bid in a Silent Auction. The prize was the opportunity to name a race dog and to have first "dibbs" on adopting the dog when it retired. Well, we won. We named the dog Aljo Atomic Kogo (Aljo was the kennel and Kogo is the name our friends call us - long story). Atomic retired and came up to Massachusetts on Linda Jensen's last haul. He is doing really well. He is smart and ignores Berry when she growls at him. OK, I know the rules, here he is!
