  1. Words are just so inadequate at times like these. I have never met you or Bodie, but your tribute was wonderful and really touched me. Peace to you and your family. May he send you a sign.
  2. I am so very very sorry. Daddies can be so special and it sounds like you had a good one.

I am so sorry. She sounds like such a special hound. My thoughts and sympathies to you and your family.
  4. Welcome from Maryland! We live in the Mont. Co. boonies. We currently have 2 greys and a whippet. Great combination!
  5. Welcome! Gorgeous pup! Where are you from?
  6. I am so very sorry to read this. It was so obvious how deeply he was loved by you and your family. I always enjoyed his editoral comments and will miss them. I hope that you can find some comfort knowing how his life and passing has affected so many around the world. May he be at peace.
  7. Last February, a blood panel was run on Dante. The vet was concerned that the liver values were higher than before and too high for her taste. His dental was postponed. I put him on Milk Thistle and the values reduced, but I don't know by how much or what the actual values were. Now, during his check up, she noted a 2-3 heart murmur. That wasn't present in February/March. I was reading another post and someone asked if TBD's had been checked when the pup had high bilirubin. Before I call my vet to ask if these panels had been run or if TBDs could be in the differential, can I get some ideas of what I should be looking for? He is 8 YO, but looks and feels good. My vet thinks that she is more greyhound saavy than she actually is, so I usually need to go in there knowing more than she might. Any suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! (BTW, I am in the process of finding a better vet for my furkids.)
  8. Sometimes Dante looks a little chapped - reddish, but the skin is dry and unbroken - under his arms. It happens when his harness or coat is not adjust right and seems to rub when we are out. It never bled though.
  9. I am so sorry. How I love the black boys! Sympathy to you and yours.
  10. I am so so sorry. You and Penny are in my thoughts.
  11. Thinking of you and your family. There are no magic words, but we are here with you at this time.
  12. My sympathies - I have 4 angel kitties up there myself.
  13. Zoe came to us as a bounce who had broken her hock while racing. It was only casted and is rather knotty-looking. It was tender for a while. She jumps on and off things without a problem, but she will limp if she does zoomies in the yard. I think it is turning the corners, though, because she can jog short distances (1/4 mile) without any gimpiness. Her break was three years ago. I do have her on Synovi G-3 though as a precaution. She is 7 years old. Also, we live in Maryland and the winters can be cold and damp. I do have a leg warmer for her since I think the dampness would bother the leg. She doesn't complain, but I am a mom! She does love to play in the snow though
  14. Reading that beautiful tribute made my heart ache with yours. May your pain lessen as your memories sustain you and your family. Run free, Cherry.

I am so sorry. We are approaching the same crossroads at our home, so I totally understand and wish you well.
  23. I am so, so sorry. Your tribute was so beautiful and moving. You and your family are in our thoughts.
  24. Just a thought - since you feed raw, I would also keep track of what she ate before the episode. You mentioned that she had a lamb neck. My whippet cannot eat lamb because it is a fattier or richer meat and causes all types of GI problems with him. When I feed it to the greys now, I remove as much of the fat as I can. I was told that pancreatitis can be caused by uncooked fat, too.
