  1. barleans brand makes a fish oil for animals and it is liquid form. I put a tablespoon in lexie's dry dog food twice a day and mix it in there . Lexie was extremely shy when we got her. I am sure in time your dog will go in the kitchen.
  2. sounds cool..lexie is a therapy dog so i would be interested in watching u post what she learns
  3. iv'e thought i seen it all but that is so totally hysterical..got to show all my friends.. chariots of fire then sank lexie tries to swim but rolls over

  6. we had an older dog once that had a neurological problem and would just poop. he couldnt help it. Hopefully your vet can find more answers. I would try walking him more and the anxiety meds sound like a good plan too.. good luck keep us informed.
  7. wow, i can honestly say I have never seen that before
  8. lexie is an only dog too and she whines when she see other dogs. we have 'playdates" in our backyard with other neighborhood dogs that i know are friendly. Lexie really enjoys that.
  9. sending good thoughts. please let us know
  10. Thanks..it isnt red but doesn't look like a dried scab either cause when i try to rub it off it won't come off..lol. I will give it another week. It doesn't look like anything that needs to be rushed to the vet for
  11. Today i cleaned it with peroxide. It doesn't feel like a scab but a hard pea. Any thoughts?
  12. the scab is actually smaller than in the pic
  13. it might be but i dont know what those look like...i tried to take a pic but it wont show up real close without being really blurry with my camera. when i take it farther away u cant see it I am not too good at describing but to me it looks like the color of a scab or dried blood i guess round ball shape the size and depth like a small pea.
  14. ok so it has been a week later and the little bump looks like a scab but not like a human scab. Like a round scab ( i think ) is that normal or is that something else? The bump and the original scrape is under the little flap that u have to fold back to see on the top of the ear if that makes sense. I hate to run to the vet a pay some huge amount if it is nothing to worry about. Should i just wait another week and see? thanks all
  15. she looks very happy and comfy in her new home Lexie growled at me once when we first brought her home. I think it was because she had no idea what was going to happen to her when i got real close( my fault too i was trying to snuggle with her on her bed the first week) Keep up your good work. She really does look very happy
  16. sounds like u have a good plan.. try to let him out the latest u can..also, it would be difficult to teach a different weekend time, most dogs can't do that. good luck
  17. sorry, no advice but so sorry u are going through this with your dog. vent anytime, that's what we are here for
  18. I felt the same way when we got lexie. Don't give up hope. It took lexie 6 months to be comfortable with us...2 years to finally want to get close to cuddle and 3 years for her to have separation anxiety from us..lol..now she won't leave our sides. I always wished she would jump on the bed and snuggle and about 2 years after having her, I was real sick and couldn't get out of bed. She must have sensed it because she not only jumped up, but layed her head down right on my stomach. greyhounds are "different " dogs but the joy and reward is there. hang in there
  19. I am not sure how this happened but I was walking lexie and I heard her scream. The only thing i saw around was a bracnh up high. Anyway her ear flap the part that is folded on the top side of her head looks like it got poked and scraped. I washed and put neosporin on it but it is hours later and it is still bleeding. Not enough for stitches but sitll some blood. she is very sensitive there. Should i use that super glue bandaid stuff? or what should i put on it to stop the bleeding? I won't be able to cover it cause it is in the flap of the ear (had to explain i hope u guys know what i mean) Or is there a way I should cover it? Poor lexie always has these fluke accidents. It doesn't look serious enough for the vet. thx for all suggestions and help ok so it has been a week later and the little bump looks like a scab but not like a human scab. 20. i also agree with "wearing him out' a little by walking him in the am before work. coming home at lunch time seems like a good plan to me too.
  21. lexie is crated outside our bedroom. she feels safe in her crate. she cried for the first two days cause she couldnt see us, after that no problems are u saying the crib takes precedence over the crate??????
  22. If possible maybe take her to a different facility? I know it can be difficult changing places but all it takes is one more snap and then she won't be able to visit any facilities She probably sensed something was wrong. I notice when I take Lexie, she can sense certain people and I just stay a lil further back and keep a short lead. Hope things work out. I am sure others will have some more useful suggestions. It is a wonderful thing u do taking her to a more difficult facility.
