  1. I am so sorry about Tasha and totally understand. Sydney was my 15 yo "soul dog." He was a shelter dog (non-grey) - there through every up and down life had to offer...so far. He went to the bridge in Aug of '06. I miss him every day and probably will for the rest of my life.

    Freddie

Thank you for sharing Freddie's story. I'm typing through tears. What a lucky boy he was to have found his home, his mom & dad. Every pup should have parents like you.
  3. Welcome!! Oh, she sounds just like my Georgia - looks & personality. I don't know if it's a girl thing, a tuxedo thing, a grey thing or just a loved/loving dog thing!! Whatever it is, it's a wonderful thing.
  4. You may have something there...Georgia is missing a toe on her right foot. She broke a toe on that same foot about two weeks ago. My group said to just leave it alone, but I followed the advice here (thanks guys!) and took her to the vet for pain meds. It was healing well...until I accidentally stepped on her foot last night!! Anyway, I digress... My point is I wondered the same thing - like the pressure on the other toes is greater to compensate for the missing one. By the way, she broke it after running on grass.
  5. Oh no! I was really pulling for this sweetheart. You were so loved, Summer. Run whole and free.

Oh, Brandi. I am SO sorry.
  7. I am so sorry. Beautiful tribute. Love, Lisa, Georgia & Apollo
  8. Thanks to all of you who helped with Georgia's toe. We went to the vet today. He said she probably has a slight fracture in the knuckle. He gave her Rimadyl & Tramadol and told me to wrap it with an ace bandage. She already feels a LOT better. I'm also very happy to see her on the mend. :pepper
  9. Thank you all! It seems to be in place - just swollen at the second joint. I'm gonna take her in...just to be sure.
  10. Hi Everyone, I posted a couple of days ago about Georgia's toe. I think she broke or jammed it while running. She's still limping and not bearing much weight on it. I called my adoption group who told me to just let it heal on its own and could take 6 weeks!! Is this the right thing to do? I can't stand seeing her unhappy, but I don't want to take her to the vet and have him do unnecessary things - like casting her leg. Please let me know what I should do. Thank you!
  11. Georgia broke her middle toe. It is very swollen and won't bear weight on it. She also seems very depressed. Should I take her in, or let it heal on its own??
  12. Yikes! Does it come off? Looks like an infection.
  13. Okay, I tried this stuff as a last ditch attempt to help Georgia's skin/coat. She had dry, flaky skin and a dull, shedding coat. I even took her to the vet who said she just has sensitive skin. It took about a month and she is GORGEOUS!! I'm very impressed with what Missing Link has done for her. Not only is her coat sleek and shiny, no more flakies or shedding, but her eyes are bright and she just seems to feel better. It's a bit expensive, but I highly recommend it to any dogs that have skin issues. No, I don't work for the company...
