could be both Bell's palsy and LS, or a stroke. Did the dog recently have surgery? When Brindle had Bell's they said that many patients that had surgery end up with the palsy. Brindle had open chest surgery 3 months prior.

It's hard to type thru the tears, Jay. Six was way too young. My OS girl lasted 6 months and a few days as well. I also lost a young one (not the same as my OS girl). She was 5 when I lost her to liver disease. She left me 14 yrs ago and all the dogs I have had since then were all her legacy. Including the one that became my heart and soul. The pain will never leave. But it does become bearable.

My first thought was a bug bite or sting.

I'm so sorry! Jonelle was a beautiful girl. I lost 2 very suddenly, both hemangio. But there was some belly swelling before they went. But they just seemed a little off, very little warning.

some hypertension is caused by other diseases but not all the time. Pearl's cardiologist spent 7 yrs looking for the cause of her not-quite-under-control hypertension. But in the end, it was idiopathic. I did mention this to Dr. Couto at one time and he said that greyhounds do seem to have idiopathic hypertension. But do keep an eye on it. I thought we were doing very well when one day during a walk Pearl's eyes were moving rapidly and she was swaggering. Lasted maybe 30 seconds. I thought vestibular, but decided to check with her cardiologist. Vet said come in now. Pearl's BP was 300. From that point on we did a BP check every 6 weeks. However, in the end, I lost her to cancer.

Start slow. Maybe just stick your finger in the side of his mouth for a second. Without the brush. With the toothpaste. Do this daily, reward each step of the way. After he accepts the finger, then move the finger in a brushing motion. Only a few seconds. Work up to longer times. Then when he's totally comfortable add the brush but just put it between his cheek and teeth. Don't brush. Once he's comfortable, then brush. Baby steps. just baby steps. With rewards all along the way.

I ended up giving my girls Comfortis. When they had their bath the next day they couldn't find any fleas, not even dead ones. I have wooden floors and they've all been vacuumed and the beds washed. I haven't seen anything and am keeping my fingers crossed. I did get them before they got too bad, so that's a plus.
