  1. Oh no Lene'. Rudy was just too young. How devastating! I'm so sorry.
  2. {{{{{{{{{{Mary }}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Rickie sounds like just the best bud all around. And when life thru him lemons, he made lemonade.
  3. My girls LOVE it. Start with just a coating of his bowl because you don't want to shock his system. But he'll tummy will get used to it and you can up the amount quickly. It's got eggs, which is good for him and calories for the weight gain. I also gave my older girl Onyx when she was 15 Ensure for weight gain when she would decide she wasn't hungry. Just to keep weight up. But I think they like the eggnog better.
  4. My 15.5 yr old lost the use of her bag legs during that horrible icy winter of 2011. As I look back I wonder why didn't I take her to a specialist? Why didn't I wait until the ice melted (it was the last ice of the year). I saw a little improvement before I left her with the vets for an overnight. Why didn't I give her more time when I came back? I have no answers. So make sure you are ready as well as her.
  5. I'm so sorry he's gone. I looked up his pedigree and saw that he's related to my Topaz (who I lost 14 yrs ago) and Crystal who I lost 2 yrs ago. (Trouper Zeke) The pictures you posted are worth a thousand words.
  6. Pearl had a significant heart murmur when she was 5 and we went to a cardiologist. She did have heart disease. With some meds she lived to 12 and died of cancer. I'd go to a cardiologist now. If nothing else it will give you peace of mind that it's "nothing". Or she can go on meds and do very well. The cardiologist didn't want Pearl to be inactive, she encouraged play (just not real athletic stuff like when she raced).
  7. I've lost 3 to that horrid disease. (only one to OS). It's a heartbreaking way to go because they give no warning. Seemingly healthy one minute, gone the next. I'm so so very sorry that Swiftie had it.
  8. I had a 12 yr old who got OS. I chose the amp route for her because she was a very young 12 yr old. (Dr Couto said age is just a number) I had a terrific 6 months with her until OS hit another leg. Not giving you advice on what to do....just letting you know my story. Good luck!
  9. Ducky I'm so sorry. She was an amazing little spitfire. And obviously well loved. You made the last year and half of her life absolutely wonderful.
  10. I too remember when you got Obie. What a horrible shock to lose such a vibrant and alive boy.
  11. I'm betting the jerk ran away because he KNOWS he was in the wrong. Off leash pit bull attacking another dog..... I'm guessing the dog got into trouble already. I'm glad you guys are okay.
  12. I think we all understand............
  13. This. I think either the vet misspoke or your DH misheard. Cataract give cloudy eyes.
  14. Good Boy Casper. You make sure you have a very merry Christmas.
