  1. I'm Opal developed leg spasms. Her vet and her chiropractor both recommended more green leafy vegetables to help with her magnesium.
  2. Sigh. How old is she. She's got an adorable face.
  3. Brindle, age 8- Hemangio of the spleen Diamond, age 12 - OS Pearl, age 12- fibrosarcoma of the spleen Crystal age 11, hemangio
  4. Is she still on Pred? I believe that can cause weight loss.
  5. I have a yearly deductible of $250. I can handle the higher premiums because it always seems that the big vet bills hit when I'm short on money.
  6. Awwww. By the way, my post above should read she should NOT have hard item.
  7. Billy Bob and Bean...........sounds like a movie! Welcome BB!
  8. Way to go Taylor! May he follows Twiggy's example.
  9. I'm glad she's doing this at your house and not mine!! She's adorable but a little stinker.
  10. Until she heals she should have hard items like Milkbone dog biscuits. But eventually she may end up being able to eat almost anything. I did have a girl with no teeth. She did fine with dry kibble but I don't think I ever gave her a big dog biscuit again. I think I tried to keep it softer or small. Scrambled eggs are terrific for the first couple of days after losing so many teeth.
  11. holy poopile! I'm glad he made it thru the treatments and is back to his old self.
  12. Alicia if this helps at all, fibrosarcoma is a very hot cancer. Pearl's tumors grew a centimeter a day. So Henry's tumor was probably there less than a month. He was a handsome and brave boy.
  13. I've had VPI since 2000. They were good back then. They're terrible now. My current two are with Healthy Paws. The last VPI dog left me this year in Feb. She wasn't changed to Healthy Paws because of her age. But when I sent VPI the bill for cremation it was enough to automatically cancel the policy but not enough for Claims to accept it. Bereaved, I had to call them up to dispute the rejected claim. They've paid as little as 20% on claims because that was what their schedule stated. When I inquired about their low payout, the response was that they were not meant to cover all or even most of the vet bill but just to help out. They are HORRIBLE!!!! Do not get VPI.
  14. I will keep her in my prayers................
  15. This is exactly why I always want a few extra pounds on my dogs. My Brindle was hospitalized for 2 weeks back in 2000. She lost 16 lbs. I cried when I first saw her out of the hospital environment. Now I'm not talking fat, and of course for some dogs extra weight just doesn't seem to get put on. But I don't worry about seeing all their ribs. Just as long as they still have a decent tuck.
  16. Maybe GOFUNDME will help with a little bit. If it's a difference between a death sentence or life.....I go for it. Oh, also............do you have Care Credit where you are? For large bills like this Care credit will give a specific amount of time to pay off a bill interest free. The only catch is that if you can't pay it off by the end of that period (sometimes 3 mos, sometimes 6, sometimes 12 mos) then you get WALLOPED! But all you have to do is transfer the balance to another credit card offering a year interest free for transferring money. Most credit cards have that option. I did that a couple of times when VPI insurance wasn't very generous with the claim payout. Care Credit may be just the difference you need for the BM aspirate.
