  1. Are you allowed to carry any defensive spray? Pepper spray?
  2. While I love hawks...not in my back yard. I've lost too many chickens to them.
  3. Rob, I'm so sorry to hear of Logan. I'm going to echo several other people who stated splenic issues. Hemangiosarcoma has claimed 3 of my dogs. Fine in the morning, gone at night.
  4. Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry. What a beautiful tribute to her.
  5. OK, now that we know the remote is safe... Get an empty soda can. Fill with a few pennies. Set it on a used napkin, something you know she'll grab and place it at the edge of the end table. Hopefully the noise she creates pulling the loaded soda can off the table will startle her from doing it again.
  6. Thanks Jan. It's hard enough finding everything with xylitol, but ALL those names! Can you ask Jeff to pin this post? Make it easy to reference.
  7. Is a dog door an option? It's been a life saver for me with older dogs needing to go out frequently.
  8. I went through a front leg amp and chemo on a 12. She had a terrific 6 months. Even chasing deer, much to my chagrin. She was happy and pain free and I didn't worry about her breaking a leg.
  9. I adopted an Irish girl in February, Snowflake.(fka Marilyn). 5 days after I got her she came down with a fever and swollen hind foot. Because of an injury between the toes we though foreign object and infection. For 3 months we've been on different antibiotics and still have a swollen foot. Sometimes the fever returned. We saw an internist today at a specialty hospital. He's suggesting vasculitis, specifically cutaneous and renal glomerular vasculopathy. (CRGV) This has seen an uptick in the UK where she's from. Prognosis is all over. From she could get over this and live to 13 or it affects her kidneys and I lose her to kidney failure in a couple years. (I had a Canidrome dog that I lost to renal failure at age 6 ) Anyone have any experience with this?
  10. Houndstooth does non anesthetic dentals. While not as good as the deep cleaning under anesthesia, it a great in between cleaning. See if she travels to your area. https://houndstoothpetdental.com/
  11. It happened to my 15 year old. I attributed it to maybe being on her back at some time and her age.
  12. Ducky, I'm glad you got a youngster. Give your heart a break. Is he coming to GIG?
  13. We went last year. The 2 day drive was too much for my little Bada. Dr prescribed trazadone for the short 3 hr drive to GIG.
  14. Got that right! Happy birthday Adam.
  15. The Eisenhower, while not the nicest hotel, is convenient and I was able to still get the GIG discount last week. I do like the fact that I can park the car and just walk to the events. It'll be good to see you again.
  16. Unless you've seen him 24/7 he could have slipped on the floor. Not necessarily fallen but slipped enough to have given him a fright. Besides rugs, I believe there is a product you can put on their feet to make them stickier. Maybe that might help.
  17. I think I'll be there. After all I need to buy stuff for my new Irish lass, Snowflake.
