My vet has stopped giving tramadol because studies have shown its doesn't do anything for dogs. But keep that 2 week mark in your view. Then they're off all meds and become themselves again.

I used it and it took 6 months for Bubbles to get cleared. But she's been hook free since.

Because the pain is gone. She sounds like she's doing better than average.

Meds sometimes make them whiney. I kept thinking they weren't working, but then when time came to take them off, 2 weeks, they were 100% back to normal, personality wise. I made a ramp for my girls and tripod guests. PM your email and I'll send pix.

Oh another thing to remember, she's losing braking power, not acceleration. Just remember this when she starts running.

This. And one thing I wasn't prepared for was the look on their face when they first wake up without a leg. I'm glad both my girls stayed for 2-3 nights.

Is your humidifier clean? -
Definitely don’t let her bounce around. I dogsat a big fawn boy and noticed that dreaded lump on his wrist before the owner did. She took him to the vets right away and was waiting for his upcoming oncologist appointment. She came home from work one day and he was happy and bouncing around with his dinosaur toy when the leg broke. It was the worst thing she ever experienced. He was gone that night. She didn't have a chance to think about amp. This was only 1 week after I told her. And yes, for 2 weeks you'll doubt yourself. Just hang on! She'll be running and pouncing around in no time.

I have 5 stairs to get in and out of the house. Diamond, who by the way was 12 when I did her amp, jumped off the deck onto the patio just days after her amp. She crash landed, but thankfully was ok. They think they can do more than they can so be careful, especially the first few weeks. The only thing that changed for my 2 amp girls was the length of walk. They couldn't go as far. Oh, and you walking faster is actually easier for them.

Oh Monica! Not Amelia! My Tanzi had a lump in her wrist. The day I saw it I burst out crying because even without the vets I knew. Tanzi was 8. We went the amp route.

The high jump record holder just so happens to be a greyhound. So he's got it in him. -

Me too. -
OMG! Where do we start? I'm going to have the fattest greyhounds on the planet from all the goodies. And Snowflake has already taken one of the toys outside (we have a dog door) And thank you for the chocolates and my all time favorite hot chocolate mix. We don't have a TJ near me. Love the blanket too. The ornament is already on the tree! I hope I didn't miss anything as the box was full of goodies. Thank you so very much. Snowflake and Mary Pat

Wow! What a box! Bada hasn't tried PB treats yet. But she really likes the bacon ones. And the toy is perfect. Just her size. We'll definitely try the blankie tonight. And my goodies are outstanding. Can't wait to try the variety pack of hot chocolate. What a neat idea. Love the socks, definitely can use them. And the mints and chocolate, yummy. Thanks you so very much! Mary Pat and Bada

Thanks so much! Bubbles loves her squeaky, crinkle duck. I can't wait to try the bubbles. I wonder what she'll think of them. The red scarf is perfect for her. That's her color. And my FAVORITE-Trader Joe's sipping chocolate. I know what I'm having later today.

I made a mistake. She died in 1999, she was born in 1993. She passed before her birthday. I have 4 greys that were not linked to Topaz somehow: Emerald, Cee Magic, Snowflake and Bada (my little meat farm survivor)

Topaz was my first Bridge girl. 12/21/1999. She was only 5. But she left quite the legacy: Onyx was adopted 3 weeks after I lost Topaz. She smiled like Topaz and had a gemstone name. Pearl came 2 years later. I searched for a silly goofy b/w girl ever since I lost Topaz. I found her in Pearl. Diamond came 2 months later because she was Pearl's littermate. Opal came after 2 more years, because she was a wild b/w girl. Jade, another goofy w/b girl came when I lost Pearl, Diamond and Onyx. Then came Crystal, Topaz's niece. Who I lost 18 days later. Then Tanzanite when I had to give Jade back. Another w/b girl. Bubbles is my current w/b goofball. I still think of her often and wonder what her life would have been like if liver disease hadn't stolen her away from me. Miss you, my Punkin Pie.
