    Flying Lynch

I will always remember Lynch with fondness. His trainer Lynn, asked me what I thought was wrong with him and I said I wonder if he can see OK? He had been to 2 tracks before Geneva Lakes and could not break his maiden. His owner even paid for his neuter, even though he had paid a LOT of money for Lynch. I had to drive Lynch most of the way, I did not want to GUR a dog who could not see. I remember that day as if it was yesterday. Fly free Lynch! You can see everything now!! 2. Isaac & Jeff, I am sorry you lost your beloved Dowland. I know he was extra-special because he was your first. I still remember bringing him to you. Now he joins Arlo and Sandy-Andy, who I really liked as well. They were all wonderful dogs that gave you such greyt memories. Brett
  3. Joyce was returned to the adoption group tonite. Donna
  4. Lindsay and Joanne: All of us from Halfway Home are very upset about Becky. We had no idea that she was sick. We are sending mega-doses of white light and prayers. Leslie Lingle (the farm that was holding her for us) said she had a dime-sized lesion on her rump when she left Oklahoma. Nothing was noted by the vet when she was spayed two weeks before she went on the haul. Leslie sends good thoughts for Becky too. My husband asked me if it could be a spider bite. He had a foster GH who had been bit by a spider and ended up with an amputated leg. We'll be sending a box of items for the auction for Becky's medical bills. I'll send a PM with Dr. Linda Blythe's cell phone number, she has access to all the vets that wrote the Care of the Racing and Retired GH. Maybe they can come up with something. I know it is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Donna Sad Cheerleader for Halfway Home
  5. Welcome to GT! I helped Joanne pick out Ciara and set up her transportation to WAG. Very happy to see her in her new home. Donna Head Cheerleader for Halfway Home, the Oklahoma group that she came from!

    Strutter

We have several other seniors available. Gaylan Edwards is retiring and has given us many of the Okie dogs for adoption. We have Penrose Ruffian who has been waiting for a year for an adoption group to take her in. For those that are questioning, the dogs stay on the farms that they were raised until a group picks them. For Legs Buffalo Gal and Strutter, adoption groups never took them. We don't have that many local adoptions in Oklahoma. So they went to the Bridge where they were raised in the company of people they knew. Strutter

I never met Strutter either, but her picture is carved into my head. I know she was well cared for where she was and it was her time to leave us. She never had a home so she didn't know what she was missing. But it is so touching that so many people cared about her. Donna Sad Head Cheerleader for Halfway Home
