  1. Time doesn't heal wounds, rather it just allows us to adapt to life without them. I always felt like grief was like a giant wave, and some days I felt like I was drowning in pain, while other days I just swam with the current, just barely holding my head out of water. But it is the most loving decision we can make for them, although it's so difficult and painful.
  2. Emmy does this a lot and it works. She has me well trained
  3. Rachel, I am so sorry for your loss of Sweep, a GT favourite
  4. Emmy and Simon are the most bonded pair of greyhounds we've ever adopted. It's kinda sweet to watch. Today Emmy had SFT surgery on her paw because of a stubborn, painful, reoccuring corn. Poor Simon misses her. Emmy will a gigantic snifffest when she gets home. Plus lots of attention from us humans. btw, the surgery went well and she's awake. We pick her up in an hour.
  5. Happy belated birthday. Double digits are always extra special.
  6. Out of 6 greyhounds, only 2 have a "prey drive" and it's for squirrels. However, when we are on a walk, they have been taught not to bother with them. Our other greyhounds wouldn't bother with prey at all. They would just stand and watch them running in the yard, then turn away. However, most of them really enjoyed running with other greyhounds and playing with them. So, we've had it pretty easy over the last 18 years considering we never took prey drive into our adoption decision.
  7. Our males averaged around 27kg so some males are smaller than others. He sure is a cute little fellow.
  8. Sadly, we won’t be going this year. We have a wedding (happy about this though) and it’s the same weekend. We used to go to so many greyhound events each year, and now I think it’s been about 3 years since we attended one. Dewey may be a possibility this year, so I’m hoping vendors will still be at Dewey. I really miss seeing everyone. By the time I get to an event, I wonder if anyone will even remember me
  9. Congratulations….I had a feeling she found her forever home when I read your first post
  10. I'm so sorry for your loss
  11. I’m so terribly sorry for your loss, such an emotional roller coaster these last few weeks.
  12. Wow, he is so handsome. Congratulations
  13. Happy Gotcha Day at the bridge. I too, have made so many friends because of greyhounds. And I shed tears for greyhounds I never met in person, but was saddened by their loss because I know how incredibly painful it is. Cheers to Rocket and may there be French fries falling from the sky.
  14. I’m so very sorry Don and Chris. I wish I had words of comfort but I never do. She ended up in a great home with you and is lucky she spent her last few months loved and spoiled.
