  1. I dremel outside when I can, and point the fan away from my face. I have had the same mask thought though...
  2. Nice update...nothing came through on the urine culture-but Diesel is much better. He still needs to put some weight back on, but he is eating voraciously and requiring less pain meds. He is a wobbly back end guy and is still weaker in that area, but we are back to his normal personality. He was hitting me in the back of the head repeatedly with his paw while he was on the couch and I was sitting on the floor. Also he has turned into Mr. McLovin more than normal. So we are spoiling him like always. Thank you for holding my hand and Diesel's paw. We appreciate it.
  3. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  4. He's picking but eating. I'd like to see him eat more but I'll take anything. He's a dog that is thin anyway, but in 4 days of not normal eating you can see he has dropped weight. He's getting up and down on his own, ears are up but he is still moving slowly which I guess is good. After he comes inside from going potty, the hair on his lower back is standing on end like he's got goosebumps or something. I've never seen that before.
  5. Al(DS)got Diesel to eat! It was only half a can, but I'll take it. He told me to go away, opened a can of Pot Pie-nuked it and pretended to eat it in front of Diesel. He said he got half the can in him and was trying not to eat it himself...lol!Now D is napping. I'm going to run to work and get some stuff done and pick up his prescription on the way back.
  6. What do I ask the vet for for his stomach? I think they are culturing his urine, and normally Diesel likes everything people eat or canned food. Thanks
  7. His fever seems to be gone this morning...and he got up by himself and seems wobbly but more stable. He still isn't eating or drinking. DS is home today, so I went to Costco and got him a rotissere chicken and he didn't want any.
  8. He felt warm and had chills at home but got super hot when we got to the vet. He was so out of it he didn't even care he was at the vet. They were really nice and got us a rubber backed mat and he just layed on the floor the whole time.

So we are spoiling him like always. Thank you for holding my hand and Diesel's paw. We appreciate it. After 3 hours at the vet today, we left with no concrete answers. Poor Diesel has a fever of 105, but his blood work and urinalysis looked normal for a 12 year old. So, after my insistence that he go home with me, the vet gave him sub cutaneous fluids, baytril, and tramadol. Diesel hasn't eaten in over 36 hours and he will always eat canned food for me, but he turned his nose up at even tripe tonight. So the possibilities right now are back/ls issues. He has been going up and down the stairs for the first time in 2 years so it is possible something is out of whack, but I haven't been in the basement for a couple days before this happened. I don't know how/if pain would cause fever. I know fever causes pain but is it possible for pain to cause a greyhound to fire up and cause a fever. 2nd possibility is a kidney/urinary issue but the only symptom would be that Sally is interested in his junk lately and his sudden fever. 3rd possibility is something else but I don't know that that explains the fever. I'm open to ideas, but I guess I am mostly venting. Diesel is drugged up and resting and I'm praying that the Batryil fixes what is going on. His back end is so wobbly I have to hold him up when he goes out and he is not comfortable with it.

    Wilbur ....

I'm so sorry. Run free sweet Wilbur.
  11. Lucy used to have to have a dental every 3 months, so I understand and it is perfetly normal to be worried. Your boy will feel so much better after that yucky tooth comes out, but most likey will be sore and swollen right after. It isn't uncommon for there to be some icky drool for a couple of days too, (which I am sure you know but in case you don't...) but Fletcher will be back to himself in no time and grateful that his mouth feels better.

    Hotdog

    I am so sorry.
  13. I'm so sorry. Run free sweet boy.
  14. I am so sorry. Hugs and prayers for Apollo that you both get the time you need together, and that it is full of love and good times.
  15. My friend wanted me to again say thank you to both of you. Your info is a huge help!
  16. Thanks guys! I'll pass the info on, we both appreciate it.
  17. One of my friends just found out her 10 yo weimeriner has diabetes and she is overwheled and devastated. I told her I would see what pointers or experience the good peeps of GT had and that I know she is not alone. The vet prescribed some supplements, one of them being CO Q 10, but there wasn't a doseage listed. She should be able to use people CO Q 10 right? Thanks in advance.
  18. Thanks. Lucy wasn't happy with that holiday suprise! Her temp is 102.1 of course, so I'll keep an eye on her. She's under the covers and warm, which is weird for her because she is always a hot dog.
  19. We are at one week of toothless Lucy, and so far it has been going ok. One thing that has been getting progressively more noticable, is in the evening she starts shivering. I hadn't been too concerned since she was still on antibiotics, and she finished the last one this morning. I thought it was because she was hungry or needed her pain meds, but tonight she is heat seeking and is under a blanket which she never does. She had dropped weight before the dental and now after I can see she has lost a couple more pounds, so I am doing 3-4 meals a day for right now. I think it is from the lack of body fat (now that I typed all this out), but I figured I would check and see what her temp is, and make sure it is normal. Thanks!
  20. I have NO idea! lol. I didn't look too long, but most of them are icky anyway. I might save one, I have a Hogan puppy tooth and Sally puppy tooth... Now I just have to figure out what to feed her for her birthday. This was yesterday...which is a vast improvement from the day before. I'll post some today pics tonight when they have birfday goodies. Thank you everybody. I know all the good thoughts help her. I know they helped me!
  21. She is a million times better today. The swelling in her face is a lot better, it is worse in the morning-and she isn't drooling like she was. She ate like a champ this morning, even standing up. Her ears are up, eyes are bright and tail is starting to wag again. SHe is a face wiper, so this morning she even gingerly did a bit of that and she let me wipe her chin.
  22. Thanks everybody. I think that was the biggest shock is how swollen her face is. Actually the worst one was when they handed me the jar of her teeth, I almost passed out in the clinic. Lucy is doing much better today, she is still out of it thankfully-but I have gotten 2 doese of tramadol into her without too much of a problem knock on wood. She had EVO slurry and ate almost the whole can, so I feel better that she got some liquid in her. I'm playing hooky from work today and watching her sleep and washing towels and bedding. She just gave out a huge sigh and sprawled out.
