  1. I haven't been on the forum for awhile now, but I needed to post today. I needed a place where Egon's life will be remembered, and not just by our family. We had to let Egon go yesterday. We think he had a small stroke or seizure on Monday, it left him unsure, unsettled and stumbling sideways. We watched and hoped that he could recover, but after a couple days knew he wouldn't. Hearing my four year old cry "I want Egon back" will haunt me forever. Egon you were a quiet presence in our lives. Always excited to make a new friend, tamer of feral kitties, thief of un-guarded food, your magical ability that let you know when the gate was left open, fearlessness of coyotes (crazy pup), unbridled fear of woodpeckers, and the best nap taker ever. I just want you to know that we love you and will always remember. I haven't seen that bottom picture in so long. He was 5 years old in that photo, so young. I had forgotten how big his eye patch was, it has been whitened for so long. Oh Egon.
  2. Egon had a tear like that in his front foot. It would not heal, we tried saline flushes, creams, etc. We ended up having it stitched up. Egon was on bed rest.....no walks, no zoomies nothing. It healed up and hasn't happened since. I hope you get some answers, poor pup!
  3. Egon pees on himself, so he gets an almost weekly bath.

Rest well Lori Ann, you are dearly missed.
  5. I agree with the wire crate. When we first got Egon we had a wire crate, and after a couple months I bought a crate cover. What a bad idea for him, he was very upset not being able to see all around. Every dog is different, but HubcityPam is right!
  6. Welcome! Egon's favorite toys are the stuffies that grunt more than the high pitch squeek, The Migrators (I think that is the name) are the ones he loves most!
  7. Wow, you have a beautiful fur family! Welcome to the site, I can't wait to see more photos!

  12. I love the spotted shirts on you girls! Welcome!!
  13. I hope it all works out for you! My group was okay with Egon being left alone for 8 hrs. We crate and play canine lullabies for him.
  14. We are still trying to figure out what is bothering Egon. He still has his skin infection that we have been battling since August of last year with a side of ringworm We are now trying to find out why he is bruising so easily. We have done pt/ptts which are high, thyroid is okay, ACT never clotted the first time, the most recent clotted right away, we even did a mucosal bleeding time which was fine. What the vet has been thinking is Ehrlichia, von Willebrand factor, and something else I can't remember right now. We don't know where to go from here. Our vet has been great, she has been searching for answers for us. On the bright side, Egon seems to be doing just fine otherwise. He is a happy man, who loves his bananas and destroying stuffies.
