In case you can't tell Im so excited for you

  3. Lizzie has kidney disease and just had a full workup and her values are in the "high normal" which the vet said is NORMAL for greyhounds because their baseline values are higher than most dogs. Lizzie is on KD because she was heading to kidney failure and as you see the vet said shes doing great. I know the greyhound values are around on the board somewhere, I hope someone can quick link it for you. Good luck

  4. I am so glad my vet and so many kind people here on GT recommended I contact Dr. Couto. Below is his response to my email and Loca's x-rays :yay

Hi Robin: We just finished looking at Loca's Xrays with a couple of radiologists, and we believe that what we are seeing is an artifact (ie; something that is not really there). We think that the "lytic" area the radiologist described is actually Loca's normal lung lobe superimposed with her scapula. None of the other views show any abnormalities, and in the radiology world, we usually don't call it unless we can see it in more than 1 views. Can you please give me more info about her? Is she painful in that area? Is she lame? Please let us know how we can help, and take care

Am I getting ahead of myself since I feel so relieved and escastic?

OMG Robin!!! Please let it be true!!!!!

  5. Oh Dallas,

You've reduced me to a puddle of goo

    :kiss2

    He's absolutely precious!

He is pretty cute :lol You should see him when he prances or paws at his face, at almost 90 pounds he looks like Marmaduke LOL

My dad walked up to him today and told him he's lucky he's cute and that he can't have treats for 6 months :lol I said dad you should be happy he's OK. He goes yes, I could have told you that for Free :lol:rofl This coming from the man that didn't want the dogs and kept saying how he would work OT if he needed surgery :lol:rolleyes:

How could we say no to this face? :lol

  6. They think his spleen may have flip flopped.

I'd want clarification on what they meant by that. Splenic torsion is a serious condition! :blink

I'm glad that he's doing well, though!

Not twisting they mean moved to a new position

Like turned upside down or something, non life threatening one time thing

  7. ** Official Results**

:pepper:bounce8:pinkele:banana:bounce:bounce1:clap The official results indicate that his spleen is enlarged but poses no danger to his health and he may return to all normal activities and he will be just fine!!!!!!!!!! The large mass in the xray was indeed his spleen. The way it was sitting covered his liver and pancreas making it appear to be a mass/tumor. So no surgery. He wants us to finish out the Rimadyl and keep some on hand incase he cries again. He said the pain could be from arthritis or he could have pulled something. They are unsure as to the initial cause of pain and both vets are stumped. They think his spleen may have flip flopped. Which just sounds painful! Anyways.... WOOHOOO. I say chanting is a good way to get good results!!! :pepper:bounce8:pinkele:banana:bounce:bounce1:clap

  8. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers.

I just dropped her at the vet. Unfortunately, I had to go on to work in order to pay for the coming vet bill.

Also, I was reprimanded for not having brought her in yesterday morning. The dropped muscle occurred Saturday night, but all seemed to be going well with her until this morning. However, they continued to scold me anyway. Now I feel really bad. I hope and pray that nothing is seriously wrong, as I will never forgive myself.

Inappropriate. They could have said they wished you brought her in yesterday but the continued scolding was inappropriate. If it was a receptionist or tech tell the vet you didn't appreciate the guilt trip

    Hope everything works out

  9. Dallas just got home from his ultrasound and is enjoying his breakfast :lol The official results wont be in until tomorrow but the vet did say no funny stuff is going on and there are NO LUMPS and BUMPS on his spleen!!!! They said his liver and pancreas looked to be OK too... They did say however his spleen is enlarged and he'd let us know tomorrow the official results and what the next step is, if there is one!
