My senior girl took it for about a week and then wouldn't take it after that. It smells terrible. I tasted the powder and it tastes awful. Good Luck.

My guy is in the beginning stages of LS and he is now on a 1/2 of a 227 mg Previcox once a day and it is working fine - for now. The vet did the "Dr. Stack" test and gave him an injection first and then he was on a whole Previcox for a week. When he wasn't yelping when going up one step, I dropped the Pevicox to 1/2 once a day and so far, so good. I HATE Tramadol and didn't use it on my other greyhound that had LS for 4-1/2 years. It made him loopy and worse than he was without it.

When I scold one grey, the others all scatter and get out of the room, along with the one being scolded. It's a greyhound thing.

The vet gave Melly all of her shots at once (except the rabies shot) and I could tell she was out of sorts when we went to bed. The next morning, she was holding up her front leg on the side where the shots were given. I gave her some Previcox and thankfully she was much better within an hour and was putting weight on her leg. She was still very quiet the entire day. Will not let them give all of the shots at one time again.

I was going to say the same thing about the Tramadol. Mine always lost their appetites when they were on Tramadol.

My guy loves to just stand outside once the weather starts warming up and he doesn't want to come in. You might want to clicker or squeaker train him to come to you for a treat. find it works for me.

My trainer said it is good to have the dogs eat from a kong. Gives them a job!! :-)

My guys seem fine and I have new bags. Of course, who knows how long the bags I have were sitting around at the DC or store.

I always get copies of EVERYTHING from any vet visit on all of my greys/dogs. That way, if I need to make a switch (which I have only done once), I have all of the records for the new vet.

Moofie, I have a problem with Melly going crazy when she sees another dog when we are walking. Although she is friendly once she meets the dog, if she sees one a block away, she goes nuts. My trainer told me to get her a dogmatic headcollar. Does it work well and provide more control?

My Saluki girl is a terrible puller, but that is because she is not only a sighthound but a scenthound too. I tried using a no-pull harness but after two days she realized she can pull with that. The ONLY way I can walk her without any pulling is by using the gentle leader. I originally connected it to the leash for about a week and now I only have to connect it to her Martingale and it has the same effect. If she doesn't wear the gentle leader, it's back to square one. She is not stressed wearing it and it works for both of us and makes for a much nicer walk.

My dogs hate their coats and since I don't walk them in this weather (I too am in PA) and only let them out back to do their business, I don't bother putting coats on them. It doesn't seem to faze them and if it's really cold, they just do their business quicker and come back to the door to be let in. If they decide to run around, it warms them up.

If he has LS, he may not feel when he has to poop. My boy had LS for five years and in the end, we would let him outside to do his business and sometimes he did and sometimes he didn't and then the minute he would step back inside the house he would squat and it came out and then he was mortified. This dog never did anything in the house in all the years that we had him.

I used to get Previcox from Omaha Vaccine also. Best prices for that Rx.
