Mazie's Out Of Surgery Post 73

We had our consult with the neurologist last Thursday. Basically, he's only 70-75% confident that this surgery will take care of 100% of Mazie's pain. He wanted to let us know that even though the surgery is fixing this problem which is the source of her neurological deficits and back pain, she may be having pain from another areas/problems that we don't know of. He's worried that because of her structural deformity that there may be more areas that we haven't discovered that may be causing issues.

So here's to hoping this is it. . . . and Mazie will be as good as new!

She goes in tomorrow at 9 and surgery will be in the afternoon. We can visit her anytime, and will be coming home sometime between Thursday and Sunday depending on her recovery.

Any good thoughts will be welcomed!!

Best of luck with the surgery. May it all go well & be 100% successful. May Mazie sonn be bouncing around & making mischief with reckless abandon again in the upcoming months. (Cause I don't want to wish that too soon in the recover process.)

Remember that if it restores neurological function but only gets rid of 50% the pain it can still be considered a success. Sometimes pain can be treated & well tolerated for quite a while without significantly effecting quality of life. It's when it reaches a certain threshold that QOL really declines. That is when others start to notice what is happening. I know of what I speak.
