Tripe is a magical food in this house right now. It makes Shanti eat. And the can does not smell bad.


BUT THE GAS IT IS GIVING HER IS DEADLY!!!!


It smells worse than a skunk, in my house! Oh Shanti, I love you and am pleased that you are eating. I will keep feeding it to you to make you eat, but could you please be courteous and leave my room when you fart! This is a whole new level of silent but deadly!!!!

Tripe is brand new to her. We are on 2 days. I am hoping she does better gas wise with it. But you are right, take the good with the bad.

Is that canned tripe? I give that to my dogs and there is no gas, thank goodness.

Yes. It is Solid Gold (I think, green can). I was so afraid to open the can from all the smell horror stories I had heard. I waited till DH left the house. The can tripe smells fine...it is the after product people should warn about! Shanti has a wimpy tummy as it.

Well the fresh stuff is much, much stinkier (as I found out a couple of weeks ago). We had a little gas the first time or two but it has improved in time - I hope Shanti will adjust as well!
