our butcher shop has these real bones that I used to get my angle Shasta. She loved them
They have lots of sizes. They are covered in some sort of beef flavor.I wonder if these would be ok for Hot Rod . Next time I go Ill ask where they get them,I dont know if its something they make themselves or buy. They have them in milk crates sorted by size so if they buy them somewhere they must buy in bulk. There are an assortment of parts, joints and straight bones and others.

The only bones I give my pups are raw marrow bones. I don't give them any kind of cooked bone as cooked bones tend to splinter.

the meat market in my town sells two different types of bones. They sell the fresh bones from the products they have de-boned and the bones that they have smoked themselves. They don't buy bones in bulk. I honestly doubt whether a local meat marketer would find it worthwhile to buy in bulk as most packing houses would only sell this item in 2000lb quantities.
I agree with only giving raw bones though. Smoked bones were a disaster here.

Me too. Cooked bones are dangerous and smoked bones cause major gastric distress.

If that doesn't mean they are covered with cow, I would be deeply suspicious. Cow is fine.

My guy loves marrow bones. They sell them here pretty cheap here about .99 lb. I have not tried turkey necks. Have you?

Whidbey gets a raw turkey neck at least once a week and loves them!
He can usually go through one neck, raw, in about 10 minutes. I like that the necks help keep his teeth clean and he loves them because they taste good! I buy them in a 10-lb box at Whole Foods and just keep them in the freezer.

Seriously? which whole foods do you go to? Do you have to ask someone or are they on display? what's the price like? Sorry- off topic I know but I gotta know!!
I give turkey (or chicken sometimes) necks often- but lark and Riley had a pretty bad reaction to them today- not sure why

I also give marrow bones- and I do buy the hollow smoked bones you can buy in pet stores and haven't had an issue- but they lose interest in them pretty quickly.

we buy raw bison leg bones, beef bones were too fatty for Chase.
Marrow bones just mean basically that the marrow is showing on one cut end or both ends.... I think...what you are looking for is the shaft, so its a boney tube with the marrow down the middle. As opposed to knuckle bones which one end is a joint (knuckle!).
