Does anybody know of treats that dogs find yummy but they are good for your dog. I've always had a problem with treats and I want to finally get it right now.

One thing I make that they love is "doggie ice cream" I mix yogurt with a mashed banana and/or peanut butter, blend it all up and I freeze it in those little condiment bowls. They love it!
Here's a site with a bunch of good recipes for various treats too

Pieces of apple (but not the pips) and rice cakes (the human ones) especially marmite ones are appreciated by my two. If you're talking more about training treats, reduced fat cheese and chicken are healthy in moderation and go down well.

BaaBaaQ's...they are dried lamb lung and my pup just loves them. You should be able to find them at Petco or Petsmart. Dehydrated liver treats are good for them too.

We give 2 treats only. Dried chicken strips and milkbones.
We break up the chicken strips in small pieces.
We buy by the case.

Duncan loves Whiskas Temptations. They are a cat treat that comes in a 3/8th inch square that has 2 calories. Duncan gets 3 a day. At a total of 6 calories, I don't care how healthy it is! He seems to think they are amazing and I'm not about to tell him otherwise.

I make my own treats. Depending on what I put in them I can get about 400 treats out of one recipe. I freeze them and only take them out when I need to. I make sure that there is Omega 3 and 6, antioxidents, and organic fruits and veggies in them. We gave up on store bought treats months ago.

I rotate between store-bought and home-made dog biscuits. One recipe I use is peanut butter, the other is cheese - they are very simple with only a few ingredients.

I'm not sure if they're the healthiest things around, but there are various kinds of dog biscuits you can get that are corn, wheat, and soy free, and sometimes organic. My girl really likes Newman's Own Organics biscuits (peanut butter flavor, at least), and Nutro Natural Choice Crunchy treats, and Blue Buffalo makes a line of good treats too. Look around the treat aisles even at a store like Petsmart, and while there's a lot of truly horrifying crap, there are a few good things too. Just as with human food, you've got to read the ingredients.
