Full Version: Anyone Feed Fromm's Dog Food?

Hi

I'm new to Greytalk, so hope I'm doing this right.

I've fed Canidae for several years, but am considering a change.

I'm looking for a food that is made in-house, not farmed out to a larger manufacturer.

Obviously, the concerns with cross contamination that occurred with Menu Foods last year are on
my mind.

From my research, it looks like Fromm's and Natura (Innova/Evo) are foods that
are made by the parent company, in their own manufacturing plants.

I like the ingredient lists for the Fromm's foods. Is there anyone on GT that feeds Fromm's,
or any one that previous fed Fromm's and had problems with it?

Thanks for any input.

I did feed Fromm's (White Fish and Potato) however my grey just had a funny stomach with that food so we switched to Eagle Pack. I did like the quality. Based on your interests, I would highly suggest checking out Eagle Pack. We use the Natural Formula and it's made in the US with primarily US grown/based ingredients.

I used Fromms and the pups loved it...but its very high in calories and they put on weight...

I switched to Eagle Pack Holistic.....duck and oatmeal or Anchovies,Salmon, Sardines ( it stunk and they loved it), .......great results and a bit cheaper...not much!!!

I got a couple of free samples of Fromm for Dillon. She was getting picky and I wanted to see if she'd eat it. She scarfed down the free samples, but when I bought a bag (fortunately a small one), she decided she didn't want it. I now have Dillon on Eagle Pack and she loves it. Boon finished the Fromm with no problems.

Fromm is a high-quality food, as are all the Natura foods. Good luck!

I use Fromms dry and the dogs are very happy with it. Made in the USA makes me happy too.

We use Whitefish and Sweet potato.

We love, love, love Fromm's! Have been feeding it for about 4 years now. We started on the Chicken A'la Veg and Salmon A'la Veg. Luckily about the same time we decided to go grain free Fromm's came out with their Surf-n-Turf. We've been feeding that for about 9 months now and couldn't be happier; glossy coats, bright eyes, good energy level and nice firm poop.

I will say that on the Surf-n-Turf we feed MUCH less than we have on any other food we have ever fed. All three dogs, who range in weight from 69-83 lbs get 3/4 cup twice a day. Any more than that and we'd have some pudgie pups. I hope this helps! smile.gif

I feed Chicken A la Veg and really am pleased with it. I agree it can easily make a greyhound fat--I used to feed 2.25 cups of Nutro 2x daily, and now feed about 1.5 cups of this 2x daily and sometimes Wilson still gets a little porky.

Hmmm. . .

I've always free-fed my dogs. They've always stayed at great weights with free choice feeding.
I've done this with Nutro Natural Choice in the past, and am currently doing it with Canidae All Life
Stages.

Anyone know how the calorie count compares with Canidae vs Fromm's food?

I'd like to continue to free feed, as this has always worked well.
