Full Version: Rice And Chicken Fix For D

Hi

So recently our dog had a couple of bad cases of D. Waking up in the night crying and rushing out to the yard. We started the boiled chicken and rice yesterday morning and she hasn't gone since then. We fed her a cup of white rice and half a cup of chopped up chicken for breakfast and dinner and also gave her a dose of Imodium. We figured for sure she would go this morning, but still hasn't gone. Should we switch back to her regular dog food? How long before we should be concerned with her not going? She usually goes 2 or 3 times a day.

We're thinking she might have cleared her system out and the combination of that and the rice and Imodium is delaying things.

What do you think?

Thanks

My vet said if they were really cleaned out by the D it could take a couple of days for things to start moving again, and not to worry about it.
